About the College South Puget Sound Community College is a public two-year college. With more than 6,300 students, including more than 130 international students, we are the largest college in the South Sound area. Our campus is located in a beautiful, wooded area only a few minutes away from the Washington state capitol. Surrounded by trees with a creek running through it, the 110-acre campus is attractive, friendly, and safe. Washington State s Capitol City South Puget Sound Community College is located in the city of Olympia, which is the capital of Washington state. With a total population of 150,000, Olympia is a small and friendly city at the southern end of Puget Sound. The presence of three colleges and the state government headquarters draws political and cultural events, as well as young people to the city. Percival Landing, the town s waterfront park and marina, is a popular place for walks and picnics. A Great Place for Learning Classes at South Puget Sound Community College are small, averaging students. Students receive individual attention from dedicated and caring faculty. The college offers an Intensive English Program and academic degree programs for transfer to a four-year college or university. In addition, South Puget Sound offers more than 30 vocational/ technical programs leading to an Associate of Technical Arts (ATA), Associate of Arts, or a Certificate of Completion.
