3 Preface The rapid development of modern information technology has ushered in an era of big data. Big data is changing our way of thinking, mode of production and lifestyle, and will arouse a new round of industrial and technological revolution. In-depth integration of big data with various industries will exert unprecedented social and commercial value, play an important role in the social and economic development and bring more well-beings to the human race. Located on the upper stream of the Yangtze River and Pearl River, two great rivers of Asia, Guizhou is an important ecological barrier. Its capital Guiyang is China s demonstration city of ecological progress and boasts unique climatic, geographical and ecological advantages in big data industry development. We hope that Guiyang will be China s important region concentrated on big data industry, the demonstration city of government data publicity and demonstration city of modern governance in the near future.
