We got a taste of the cooler weather the week of the annual golf tournament. With rain in the forecast we received numerous phone calls wondering if the tournament would be canceled, but fortunately the rain came a day early and we were treated to a cool and dry day of golf. Not that I ve ever golfed in Scotland, but I m sure the weather we experienced at Aberdeen Golf Club may have been very similar to what they might have been playing on a similar links course in Scotland. In addition to great weather, we had the largest turnout in memory, with 100 golfers registered. We enjoyed a tasty lunch from P sghetti s, which just opened a new location in neighboring Glendale. In the evening, McLain's Bar-B-Que donated a mouthwatering pork steak dinner. We thank McLain's Bar-B-Que for their generosity. In addition to great meals, we also saw some great golf (yours truly not included), with a team low score of 55 (they must have missed a couple of holes). Anyway, it was apparent that a good time was had by all and we look forward to repeating or exceeding the success in More immediately, we are in the final stages of our Business Expo preparations, being held at Orlando Gardens on October 5. We have had unrivaled interest in sponsorships this year and booths are almost sold out; so, if you ve been considering exhibiting your business, don t wait any longer. With Chamber membership at a high and all the positive buzz within area businesses, you won t want to miss the Expo this year. Lastly, we have begun putting together the 2011 Chamber Guide & Directory. As a Chamber member, you will automatically be listed in the Directory, but there are many other ways to leverage this unique publication that is distributed to 14,000 community businesses and residences. For more information, please contact Phil Forsman in the Chamber office. I hope to see you at an upcoming event. Don t miss the excitement!
