All trade waste producers must complete the following trade waste approval application form before discharging trade waste to the sewer. It is an offence under the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008 to discharge trade waste to the sewer without a trade waste approval. Financial penalties may apply. These devices will usually require connection to a minimum 3000 grease arrestor. Important notes 1. If more than one trade waste producer operates from a single property, each trade waste producer must submit an application for a trade waste approval. 2. A plumbing and drainage clearance certificate is required before a trade waste approval will be issued. 3. For trade waste producing businesses that lease or rent premises, the consent of the property owner or their agent is required to generate trade waste on that premise. Property owners or their agent must sign the trade waste application form. 4. Trade waste approvals are not transferable. When a trade waste business changes ownership, the existing approval is terminated and the new tenant/owner must apply for a new approval where required. 5. If you have more than one grease arrestor, you must complete the sizing for grease arrestors chart for each grease arrestor. Please photocopy or print the required number of copies of the form.
