Non-Degree Application Deadlines Summer Session: January 30 All campuses Fall/Winter Session: January 30 St. George June 2 Mississauga; Scarborough Admission Qualifications Applicants who are competitive for admission to the University of Toronto are among the top third of their class. Only those applicants who have attained a high level of academic achievement and who completely satisfy prerequisites will be considered for admission. For a complete list of admission qualifications including academic and non-academic requirements visit anadian Secondary School Refer to the anadian Secondary School Qualifications and ourse Equivalents chart for detailed information about minimum admission requirements for anadian secondary school applicants. Applicants must present all the requirements, including prerequisite courses (see program charts) and supplementary or profile information (if required). All programs have limited space and the admission selection process is competitive. Transfer credit towards arts, science and commerce/ management programs is considered for some academic AP subjects. More information is available at International Baccalaureate (IB) The diploma including English HL or SL is required. Applicants should present Mathematics HL or SL for programs requiring alculus (Math is not acceptable). Applicants in their final year of the diploma may be considered with predicted results of 28 or higher. More competitive programs require higher predicted results. Transfer credit towards arts, science, and commerce/management programs is considered for some IB Higher Level Subjects with a grade of at least 5. More information is available at Ontario olleges of Applied Arts and Technology (AAT) / Institutes of Technology and Advanced Learning Ecellent overall grade point average in an academic program is required for admission consideration. All program prerequisites must be met at the Grade 12 U/M level and all supplementary or profile information (if required) must be presented. Two full AAT semesters of an academic subject may be considered as equivalent to a Grade 12 U/M level prerequisite. Applicants who have completed a twoyear academic diploma may receive up to three full credits towards an arts, science, commerce/management program. A three-year academic diploma or a fouryear degree may receive up to five credits towards a degree. The admission selection process is competitive. 4 University Transfer Applicants Arts, Science and Business Ecellent academic achievement in an academic program is required for admission consideration. Applicants must meet all program prerequisites (see program charts). Students will be notified of the transfer credit to which they are entitled as soon as possible after they have been admitted and paid the Transfer redit Assessment Fee. Details concerning fee payment will be sent when an offer of admission is made. Interviews may be required. Applicants who have completed more than two full years at another recognized institution are not eligible to transfer to the same field of study. Such applicants may transfer to a different field of study and will receive a maimum of five transfer credits (one full year). Applicants with a bachelor s degree or equivalent from another university who wish to complete a second undergraduate degree in arts, science or business may apply for admission to a second degree program. Those who are admitted will be granted a maimum of one year of transfer credit (5 full credit courses). It is not possible to complete a second undergraduate degree in the same field as the first degree (for instance, students who have completed a degree in, or have majored in Economics, Management, ommerce or Business cannot complete a Bachelor of ommerce or Bachelor of Business Administration degree). All Other Program Areas Ecellent academic achievement is required for admission consideration. Applicants admitted to other divisions may receive a statement regarding transfer credit assessment procedures at the time of admission or shortly thereafter or after registration. Students who hold an undergraduate degree in Engineering should note that they will not be considered for admission to any undergraduate Engineering programs at. Bridging Programs The Academic Bridging Program, Woodsworth ollege, St. George campus and Mississauga Bridging Pathway provide an opportunity for anadian citizens/permanent residents/protected persons (convention refugees) who do not hold the published admission requirements to qualify for degree studies. See for further information. Academically qualified students who do not meet our English language requirements may be interested in one of our English language programs. These programs, if completed successfully, will allow students to meet the English language facility requirement. They are offered on each campus and range in length from si weeks to eight months. These programs include: International Foundation Program Academic ulture and English Program Academic English Housing Residence is guaranteed for all new fulltime students entering their first year of university in an undergraduate program for the first time, provided that they have indicated their interest in residence by completing the University s common residence application by March 31, and have received and accepted an offer of admission by June 1. 5 Scholarships and Financial Aid The University has comprehensive scholarship and financial aid programs that provide financial support and recognition for outstanding academic achievement at different levels of study. The University, its colleges, and faculties award over 3,000 admission scholarships and over 4,800 in-course scholarships each year. provides you with two assurances regarding financial support; one based on need and the other primarily based on academic merit. The University s Policy on Student Financial Support states that no student admitted to a program at the University of Toronto will be unable to enrol or complete the program because they do not have sufficient funds. This commitment to students who are anadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons means that the University will supplement the funding provided by government sources. This financial assurance is called UTAPS (University of Toronto Advanced Planning for Students). President s Entrance Scholarship The President s Entrance Scholarship Program provides a guarantee of $2,000 in scholarship funding. To qualify for this scholarship guarantee you must be a domestic student studying at a anadian secondary school or in Year 1 of EGEP, your admission average is 92 percent or better and you have completed each of the subjects required for admission (including prerequisites) with at least A standing and you enrol in first year at in the fall. All applicants who meet these criteria will receive admission scholarship(s) from the University, its faculties or colleges totaling at least $2,000. The $2,000 guarantee of funding is our basic commitment to you. Scholars Program The Scholars Program provides scholarships of $5,000 to over 500 of our best students. Scholarship offers are sent at the same time as our offers of admission. All applicants are considered automatically for these scholarships based on their academic performance. President s Scholars of Ecellence Approimately 50 of the most highly qualified students applying to first year of direct entry, undergraduate studies will be distinguished as President s Scholars of Ecellence. This distinction includes a $5,000 entrance scholarship in first year; guaranteed access to part-time, meaningful, on-campus employment during second year; and guaranteed access to an international learning opportunity during a student s university studies. Additional features may be offered by the admitting Faculty; these will be communicated eplicitly in the letter of admission. Outstanding students are considered automatically for these scholarships. The scholarship is tenable only in the Faculty that makes the offer. Payment of the award is conditional on fulltime registration at the University in the fall of the year the award is granted; retention of the higher year opportunities attached to the award requires the student s continuing full-time registration in good standing. Other Awards Awards which recognize factors such as financial need, outstanding leadership, or community involvement are also available.
