DRG is committed to quality and excellence in delivering contract management services and all other business operations. We will: Satisfy customers by ensuring we meet or exceed requirements Continually seek ways to improve processes, products and services Establish objectives to communicate organizational direction and drive improvement. Actively seek out ways to be innovative and support an entrepreneurial culture. DRG s service commitment policy as printed in rev. 8 of the corporate Quality Management Manual. Organizational culture can be defined as the values and behavior that contribute to an organization s unique environment. It s based on shared attitudes, beliefs, customs, and written and unwritten rules that are considered valued. This company personality is often subliminally projected in a number of different ways. Phil and Cathy Busey tasked corporate employees to describe their idea of what our company culture and core values are. This issue of the Dispatch shares the overwhelmingly consistent results. Teamwork and delivering quality services that lead to satisfied customers were attributes mentioned by every employee. DRG s culture matters because without a culture that embraces customer experience, we can t deliver great customer experiences, which is our core commitment. As you enjoy reading through this issue, we hope these descriptions capture your idea of what DRG s corporate culture is, too. Together, we deliver outstanding services with integrity and excellence through performance, innovation, and solutions.

Anonymous The way I would describe the culture of DRG would be kind of like a family. I have worked at major corporations throughout my career and you sometimes get lost in the grand scheme of things. It s nice to see the accomplishments of the team in our department and the others as well and the hard work everyone puts in on a day to day basis. DRG is different in that it s not the 30,000 employee Mega-Corporation, but is able to accomplish and compete on the same level as other larger corporations. DRG can do that because it s been built on a good foundation of trust in its employees to get the job done. Other corporations can be hierarchical and it causes them to be sluggish and delays decisions and actions. DRG is better able to adapt to changes in technology and the workplace. Paul Hafer, Program Manager I have been a member of the DRG family for over 9 years and can definitively say the culture within DRG extends from both the corporate office to field locations and fosters a spirit of integrity, diversity and excellence in meeting both our government and commercial customer needs. The DRG management team takes pride in striving for high ethical standards and taking personal responsibility for ensuring customer and employee expectations are met or exceeded. DRG ensures that a collaborative workplace is maintained where all employees have a voice to provide contributions to make effective changes that improve company performance. DRG Senior Leadership has fostered a culture that promotes continuous individual personal growth within the company for employee long-term career retention. I can definitively say that we provide our customers with the best, low-cost, high-value training solutions in the aviation training arena. DRG takes pride in encouraging only sound ethical business practices are always utilized, and incorporates the highest integrity in all aspects of company business. I am proud to have been a participant of the DRG team since Emily Myers, Contracts DRG s culture is founded on the common goal every employee is inevitably working towards daily supporting the warfighter. Because of this, there is an added passion and endeavor to deliver our best work individually and as a whole. High value is placed on employees at DRG; its success is reflected in quality people at all levels and locations within the company. These aspects of DRG s culture ultimately create a collaborative environment and encourage employees to work together as a team, committed to supporting the warfighter and effectively providing greater results to our customers. Stephen Gaede, Information Technology DRG is Different. DRG focuses on investing in its employees who in return increase profits. When a company, such as DRG, chooses to invest in its employees the possibilities are endless. When I started with DRG I brought IT skills from different industries and was comfortable with what I knew, never thinking that I would need to learn things outside of what I already knew. In the past year I have been able to advance my IT knowledge more than I had in the last 6 years. I have been asked and encouraged to learn things that I never thought I would need to learn and achieve certifications that I never thought I would be able to achieve. This is the first company that I have worked for where I think of what I do as my career and not my job. I look forward to the challenges that each day holds because there is always opportunities to learn at DRG. The core values that come to mind when I think about the culture at DRG are community, teamwork, integrity, accountability, growth, and professional development. It s not very often that you find a company whose Senior Management promotes core values like these.

Julie Buthman, General Counsel The culture of DRG is strongly based on working as a team towards goals that will benefit us all. Everyone is willing to help DRG become the best it can be. Employees are motivated to take on projects for the good of the team that may not be in their job description or that may not be the job they were originally hired to do. There is an open dialogue among divisions of the company and among all levels of employees. DRG is always growing and moving forward, with an eye to the future while maintaining the values that have brought DRG its success. Senior Leadership is hands-on and open to ideas and opportunities. DRG is fast-paced but focused on quality. DRG employees are honest, dependable, and hard-working. Ron Burkholder, Program Manager From my perspective DRG exemplifies a culture of customer satisfaction-focused operations where each employee is nurtured and encouraged to perform to their utmost capabilities to exceed customer expectations and expand their own experience and abilities. Employees are expected to perform professionally, with integrity in an atmosphere of teamwork where each member of the team is held accountable for their tasks and deadlines. Employees are encouraged to think outside the box, offer solutions, seek help when needed and provide help when able. The company recognizes and rewards performance meeting and exceeding the company s leaders expectations. The company tolerates failure when employees stretch their goals as long as employees learn from their shortfalls. DeAngela Gaymon Compliance As a service provider DRG is a company driven by its people. Ability is favored over just experience. There is an open, entrepreneurial culture in which everyone has the opportunity to contribute and the sharing of ideas and opinions is not only welcomed but actively solicited. The DRG environment is one that positively pressures people to work hard, and both appreciates and rewards added value in return. Lance Harper, Finance I like to think that being a part of DRG means that we are an extension of the Busey family, and because of this everyone stays involved, active, and passionate about their role. The culture that has been built at DRG is a relentless pursuit of excellence while continually striving to create a fun and engaging environment for everyone. Candice Wagner, Controller I would describe DRG s culture as a team based culture where everyone legitimately wants to help each other succeed which in turn helps the overall company succeed. At other places I have worked I feel like the people worked more as individuals for themselves instead of as a team. In my opinion, the team environment at DRG helps everyone grow in their positions and learn how their specific job relates to others and to the overall organization success. Go DRG!

Anonymous At DRG, I believe we are hardworking and focused on getting our tasks accomplished, but we can also relax and have a good time with each other. I think this helps keep good relationships throughout the office. We are employee and customer-focused, and have high standards of accountability to ensure excellent service. We want our employees and our sites well taken care of. Laila Dabbakeh, International DRG s culture centers on providing the best service possible at the best cost, with integrity. Laura Rubin, Accounting DRG is a customer driven company. Customers are always regarded with respect and interaction with our company is done using solid consistency to enable ease of working with us and to establish a comfort zone between us and the customer. Customers are always treated with prompt and courteous attention. DRG demonstrates value in people by hiring people, not positions or skill sets. I have witnessed hiring of staff when there wasn t even a position available and watched as those people where moved around in order to find the best possible fit for the employee and the company. It s a very impressive way of staffing a company and results in a very positive camaraderie between staff members which results in better productivity. DRG s profit for a purpose and charitable values are demonstrated in the outstanding success of the El Sistema Oklahoma grade-school free music program. Enrollment has doubled in the last year due to the hard work, passion and financial backing of the Busey s. DRG also coordinates efforts at the company s expense -- during the work day, so that employees may also contribute to volunteer efforts in the community. Tim Goulden, Information Technology What is it like to work at DRG? DRG employs a wonderful group of bright and talented people from many backgrounds. Our program managers have military experience and manage primarily military contracts. Their style and personalities reflect their military experiences and training. We have a support staff with many talents that is willing and capable of helping you get acclimated. Working for a DoD contractor is a bit different than the typical corporate job. Most jobs here are not typical cookie-cutter jobs you would see in a typical business. As a government contractor, most processes are very strict and orchestrated. This is by necessity, since most of the work is contractually defined. You may even be working outside your comfort zone and have roles you did not even know existed. This is a good thing, because this gives you opportunities to grow and learn new skills. Cheryl Gray, Accounting I see DRG s culture as ever evolving. We make changes as current issues change. As Cathy Busey always says, and I have been witness to, the only constant is change! I think change is a good thing and it keeps options open. Some of the core values I see DRG upholding are quality, flexibility and profit for a purpose. I feel that we work hard to do the very best for all of our customers and give them quality service. The flexibility is evident in the fact that we are pursuing other avenues of business and trying to grow our purchasing area! I think this would also encompass the proactive value as well. The profit for a purpose is evident in the different charities that are supported, sponsorships and, of course, El Sistema. DRG will continue to grow in the direction that they are led, I am confident of that!

Alison Smith, Human Resources I believe that a big part of DRG s culture lies within the values of the company, and a big part of those values include an extremely strong work ethic. New employees come in and by meeting and training with current employees learn the culture of the company by hearing the history, vision and mission, the types of actions that are expected and that will be acknowledged. Bruce Goree, Business Development Small company culture DRG has maintained the small company culture even as we have grown. I ve seen it since the early conception of DRG with the family involvement and a company built on family values. From the E-3 perspective, Phil and Brian have made it a point to know who their employees are and what they are about. The employees are very happy with the way they have been treated and take a lot of pride in being DRG employees. Anonymous DRG is a company that prides itself on being flexible and adapting to situations around them. You may be hired to fulfill a certain position, but later your roles may change based on strengths, needs of the company, etc. There is room to grow professionally if you choose and DRG looks inward to promote and fill needed positions as they arise as well as seek quality trained professionals when needed. As a company we adapt to a variety of changes frequently which means the corporate employees tasks, supervisors, or day to day assignments can also change rapidly. This can be challenging at times, but keeps you on your toes. You will never be bored with doing your job the same way day in and day out. Because of the small corporate workforce, co-workers often build friendships and compete/train/ participate in leagues, races and other events together outside of the workplace. This cohesion makes working together easier and creates a sense of comradery among workers. Mike Adams, Program Manager Core Values related to the DRG Company Culture: Program Management: Trust that employees are doing the right things, but validate that they are Business Development: Cultivate the possible Integrity: Know what s right do what s right Corporate Communication: Communicate early and often ; Perfect communication doesn t exist it can always be better! ; Poor communication can be improved no communication is unacceptable General Corporate: Seek Success Chris Pace, Program Manager I find the culture of DRG to be very dynamic which keeps the environment exciting. As there is constant change in the world around us in technology, the economy, etc., - the change has a ripple effect down to each and every individual at DRG. It could be new efforts we pursue as a premier aviation training contractor or new pursuits that are outside of our normal box. Maybe it s a new employee who brings a different, but effective, perspective to our company and impacts how we conduct business. The dynamics and various backgrounds of everyone employed by DRG allows us to be a great success!
