1 EDUCAUSE Regional Conference Call for Proposals Submission Form Proposals must be submitted by July 27. It is important to create your EDUCAUSE profile or, if you already have a profile, please be sure it is up to date. If this is the first time you are completing your profile, please provide a minimum 100-word bio and link to professional URL (This could be a personal web page or your unit/department web page). Note: It may take up to 72 hours to generate new profiles or changes to existing ones. This will not affect your ability to submit a proposal. Remember that your profile information will be helpful to reviewers in understanding your qualifications. 2 Session Format and Resources required Most presentations are 45 minutes; poster sessions are 60 minutes; workshops are 90 minutes; idea and innovation showcases vary in length. (Mouse over the presentation format for more information.) Please select up to two formats for which your topic is most suitable. Indicate your format preference using a 1 to indicate most preferred and 2 as second preferred. 3 Teaching and learning professionals, faculty, and instructional designers Library, e-research, and digital content leaders Frontline practitioners sessions focusing on practical applications and implementations The session I am proposing will most benefit people who (choose one content level): Are new to this topic/content area Have a reasonable amount of experience with this topic/content area Are fairly well experienced with this topic/content area Would be considered an expert on this topic/content by their peers Session Track required Please select up to two tracks for which your topic is most applicable. Leadership and Management Mobile and Cloud Technologies Supporting Enterprise Services and Users Teaching, Learning, and Research Corporate Presentations The program committee will not review proposals that include a corporate presenter. Corporate and Campus Solutions track presentations will be accepted via the Corporate Participation page. These are presentations by a corporation coupled with a client campus on technology challenges and solutions, and there is a fee for presenting. Session Abstract required Include an abstract of no more than 100 words. If your proposal is accepted, this abstract will serve as the basis for your session information and will appear on the conference website and in the onsite program. Please be concise and accurate with your writing. Avoid flowery and overly descriptive prose. Use the abstract to clearly state the intended outcomes of your session and what attendees will gain. Remember that attendees are looking for opportunities to engage with your topic in meaningful ways. Visit the Speaker Resources Hub for helpful information. Abstract Session Content and Approach required Please provide a detailed and substantive description of your session, addressing each of the following six areas: 1. Statement of the problem or issue: State specifically what problem or issue you will address during your session (250 word limit).

4 Statement 2. Description of activity, project, or solution: This is the core of your proposed session and should include such things as historical background; who was involved; examples of what it took to analyze and define problems and solutions; methods used to work toward solutions, and so on (500 word limit). Description 3. Impact: Please indicate the impact of your efforts, including outcomes and achievements. In addition to anecdotal evidence, include quantitative examples of how your project resolved a problem or issue. It's important to talk about the successes and failures, especially in respect to what you learned from either (250 word limit). Impact 4. Importance or relevance to other institutions: Please extract and describe the overarching principles or lessons learned that attendees can focus on during your presentation so that they can better understand the importance and relevance of your project findings to their situations (250 word limit). Importance/ relevance 5. Session interaction: Please describe how you will incorporate interactivity/active learning and discussion into your session (250 word limit). Interaction 6. Session outcomes: Include three primary objectives that define the benefits for an attendee in this session. Please use language that describes observable behaviors (i.e., As a result of this session, attendees will be able to: identify, assess, utilize, plan, resolve, transform, etc.) (250 word limit).
