365 days of dedication to ending childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. For everything that you have accomplished for St. Jude, we want to say
ST. JUDE PATIENT GYLE, AGE 5 THANK YOU
YOUR SUPPORT SINCE 1987 $5,387,000 Revenue reported as of February 2016 YOUR PARTNERSHIP MAKES A DIFFERENCE This year marks the 25th anniversary of Averitt s commitment to the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children s Research Hospital. Your partnership allows us to remain at the forefront of the global effort to research, treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Your support helps us keep our promise to our patients and their families that no family will ever receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. All they should worry about is helping their child live. ST. JUDE PATIENT HAYDEN, AGE 4, BRAIN TUMOR
A B C Executives and employees visited the St. Jude campus. You displayed your dedication to saving the lives of kids at St. Jude through Averitt Cares for Kids. Through this remarkable program, you presented a $500,000 donation to St. Jude, an increase of $50,000 over last year. The funds were collected from Averitt associate contributions, most of which were $1 weekly payroll deductions, with 81 percent of your associates giving weekly to St. Jude. This shared dedication proves your long-standing commitment to the research and care of children who suffer from childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. At your Averitt Annual Softball Tournament, St. Jude spoke to your associates and their families about our appreciation for your partnership. It was truly our pleasure to be with your group. Your desire to connect on a personal level with St. Jude patients was reflected in a group of Averitt associates visiting the St. Jude campus. Not only did you tour the hospital and present St. Jude with the $500,000 donation, but you also brought fun to the patients at St. Jude by organizing and conducting winter wonderlandthemed activities, which included helping the kids design a snowman and decorate snowflake cookies. Your support helps lift the spirits of the kids of St. Jude as we pursue our ambitious, lifesaving mission. We look forward to watching our partnership flourish as we work together to change the course of childhood cancer. Averitt continues to be a critical part of our progress. A. An Averitt associate helps a St. Jude patient with a craft activity. B. Associates families support St. Jude at the annual softball tournament. C. Your team connected on a personal, individual level with St. Jude patients.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO TO HELP ST. JUDE CHILDREN S RESEARCH HOSPITAL. ST. JUDE CHILDREN S RESEARCH HOSPITAL IS LEADING THE WAY THE WORLD UNDERSTANDS, TREATS AND DEFEATS CHILDHOOD CANCER AND OTHER LIFE-THREATENING DISEASES. AS A WORLD-CLASS CHILDREN S HOSPITAL, CUTTING-EDGE RESEARCH INSTITUTION AND RESPECTED CHARITY, WE ARE DEDICATED TO ONE GOAL: FINDING CURES. SAVING CHILDREN. ST. JUDE PATIENT SAGR, AGE 8, EWING SARCOMA
A great HOSPITAL Everyone at St. Jude is committed to providing the absolute best in patient care to the children who walk through our doors. We put every child and his or her family at the center of our efforts to fight the diseases that threaten young lives. Even before a family arrives at the hospital, a dedicated team is preparing to not only treat their child, but also support them during one of the toughest times that families ever face. As innovators in patient care, we are by their side at every step, through every decision, providing a seamless network of support for our patients and their families. And the cost of this exceptional care is never a burden: No family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. And we want the kids of St. Jude to thrive even while undergoing treatment. They are not just a patient, not just a medical chart number. They are children and teens with hopes and dreams and wishes, and so we celebrate their lives and milestones every day. We cheer them on as they master new school work, walk the red carpet at the St. Jude teen formal and dress up to go trick-or-treating throughout the hospital at Halloween. We don t stop there. We follow our patients progress after treatment ends, through the largest long-term follow-up clinic for childhood cancer patients in the country. We care about how their treatment affects their lives as adults, and so we are leading one of the country s most ambitious studies of childhood cancer survivors. We are committed to providing the very best patient care because we want the very best for the kids of St. Jude. ST. JUDE PATIENTS GAYATRI, AGE 7, ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA AND ALAINA, AGE 11, HEMOPHAGOCYTIC LYMPHOHISTIOCYTOSIS ST. JUDE TREATS PATIENTS FROM ALL 50 states AND AROUND THE WORLD. TREATMENTS INVENTED AT ST. JUDE HAVE HELPED PUSH THE OVERALL CHILDHOOD SURVIVAL RATE FROM 20 PERCENT WHEN THE HOSPITAL OPENED IN 1962 TO MORE THAN 80 PERCENT TODAY. BUT THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH NOT WHEN CHILDREN DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER WILL NOT SURVIVE. THAT S WHY ST. JUDE WILL NEVER STOP UNTIL NO CHILD DIES FROM CANCER & 2015 HEALTH NON-PROFIT BRAND OF THE YEAR (HARRIS POLL)
A great RESEARCH INSTITUTION ST. JUDE SHARED OUR GROUNDBREAKING RESEARCH RESULTS IN MORE THAN 830 articles PUBLISHED IN WE FREELY SHARE OUR RESEARCH AND TREATMENT DISCOVERIES. WE WANT DOCTORS AND SCIENTISTS IN COMMUNITIES EVERYWHERE IN COUNTRIES EVERYWHERE TO BE ABLE TO USE THAT KNOWLEDGE TO SAVE THE LIVES OF MORE CHILDREN. When St. Jude opened in 1962, cancer was a virtual death sentence for children only 20 percent survived. In the case of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common form of childhood cancer, the survival rate was a grim 4 percent. St. Jude tackled those somber statistics head on and forever changed the fates of children diagnosed with cancer. Today, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall survival rate to more than 80 percent and, at St. Jude, the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia is now 94 percent, the highest in the nation. ST. JUDE CREATES more CLINICAL TRIALS FOR CANCER THAN ANY OTHER CHILDREN S HOSPITAL. Until survival rates for childhood cancer reach 100 percent and every child treated is able to lead a full, healthy life, St. Jude will continue its quest for cures. We are constantly working at the leading edge of science to discover better ways to diagnose and treat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases such as sickle cell disease. At St. Jude, we seek both cures and ways to prevent these diseases. And we freely share our discoveries so that doctors and scientists around the world can use this knowledge to save thousands more children. Our laboratories may not be in every community, but our discoveries are. ST. JUDE PATIENT TYLER, AGE 8, ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA
INTERNATIONAL outreach PROGRAM THE ST. JUDE INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM HAS 24 partner sites in 17 countries. 84 % OF SPANISH-SPEAKING AMERICANS HAVE A FAVORABLE IMPRESSION OF ST. JUDE; THE HIGHEST RANKING COMPARED TO SELECT SISTER CHARITIES.* Every year, about 175,000 cases of cancer will be diagnosed in children around the world. And 60 percent of them will not have access to adequate diagnosis and treatment. Our International Outreach Program was created to help improve survival rates for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases around the globe. Through the development of partner sites and regional networks, and our innovative cure4kids.org website, we are working with health care professionals across the globe to help erase treatment disparities and improve care for children. CURE4KIDS.ORG 32,000 REGULAR USERS FROM MORE THAN 160 COUNTRIES. *2015 Brand Research Pulse Check, Socratic Technologies ST. JUDE PATIENT ANGELICA, AGE 5, ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA
A great CHARITY 4 OUT OF5 AMERICANS RECOGNIZE THE ST. JUDE BRAND. ST. JUDE DONORS 2x ARE UP TO % MORE LIKELY TO SHOP BRANDS THAT HAVE BEEN PARTICULARLY VOCAL IN THEIR SUPPORT OF A CAUSE. There are great children s hospitals. There are great research institutions. There are great charities. St. Jude is all three. St. Jude won t stop looking for cures for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. St. Jude will share its research with the world so that children everywhere can benefit from these discoveries. And families will never pay St. Jude for anything. We cover the cost of treatment, travel, housing and food so that all a family has to worry about is helping their child live. Unlike any other hospital, the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from generous donors. Thanks to people like you who support St. Jude, we have the freedom to focus on what matters most saving kids regardless of their financial situation. Your dedication to our mission comes alive in the 31,000 activities held throughout the country to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude. ST. JUDE HAS 9 MILLION ACTIVE DONORS. Your commitment means St. Jude doctors and scientists can continue their search for cures and the best treatment for desperately ill children. Your help means no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for anything. Your generosity and support makes this possible. Thank you for being part of our mission. ST.
