2 Love London Food Festival is... A road closure event turning the whole of Regent Street into a traffic-free pedestrian area, Love London Food Festival is a free outdoor food festival showcasing and celebrating the quality and diversity of London s world-class food culture. From top independent restaurants to the hottest street food traders, the festival will promote the best of what London s food scene has to offer. Love London Food Festival is part of an even wider and extremely successful celebration called Summer Streets. A bit more about Summer Streets... Summer Streets, in partnership with the Mayor of London is a celebration of London s premier shopping street, providing a unique opportunity to experience Regent Street, with its stunning architectural curve and its wide open streets, free of traffic. Originally inspired by ideas in the Mayor s Air Quality Strategy and by a similar initiative in New York City, Summer Streets encourages shoppers to experience London s finest retail destination over four Sundays in July. Last year a total of 2 million people enjoyed Regent Street in all its traffic free glory over the 4 days. This year on Sunday July 13th, Summer Streets is incorporating the Love London Food Festival together with a programme of entertainment stages, music, outdoor performing arts and activities for all the family. What is it all about?

On the 13th July 2014, The line up...

5 Quality In Large Volumes Traders and restaurants applying for the festival must be able to demonstrate that they are able to produce and serve high quality food in large volumes in an outdoor environment under very restrictive conditions. The ability to be able to serve up to 200 people per hour at the busiest times should be a benchmark standard. 3 Of Your Best Applicants must submit a maximum of three menu items with the main menu item priced at 5. All menu prices must be in multiples of 50 pence. Menu items in the case of restaurants should be consistent with the character of their establishment and on their restaurant menu. Festival Currency Vendors are not allowed to accept cash. There will be a Festival currency in operation during the event where the public will be able to buy credit card style cards that they can load with currency and use to purchase food and drink from participants stalls. There will be numerous banks along the street where currency may be purchased as well as multiple roamers positioned around vendor stalls. Each of the six bars will also have the facility to top-up currency cards during the Festival. Each trader will be given a point of sale device to use to take payment. At the end of the event, all transactions will be downloaded and after all deductions, participants will have the funds due to them transferred to their nominated bank account within five working days of the event. The devices can be simply interrogated to find out sales information at any time. Health & Safety Participants are expected to maintain the highest possible standards in terms of hygiene, proper food handling, professionalism and health and safety compliance. 7 The Rules What we need Restaurants and street food traders are not allowed to sell beverages of any kind. A first aid kit and designated hand washing facilities (with hot and cold water) with soap and hand drying towels must be available on your stall at all times. If using gas, you will need to provide a foam or dry powder 6kg fire extinguisher and keep it on your stall during the entire festival. Certificate of Public Liability Insurance (Standard cover 5,000,000) Certificate of Employers Liability Insurance (Standard cover 5,000,000) Health & Safety Declaration we provide template HACCP we can provide a template Fire Risk Assessment we can provide a template Risk Assessment covering all stall operation Basic Food Hygiene Certificate PAT Certificate & PAT testing stickers on all electric appliances (or ensure and have proof that all appliances are within a year of first purchase from new) - Please also note that if using electrical equipment, you will need to provide a 2 kg CO2 fire extinguisher Food Business Registration Gas Safety Certificate for all LPG equipment. Our policy also requires the use of Crimp Clips on gas fittings (Jubilee Clips are NOT permitted) Key rules and regulations
