1 Release Letter Product: Version: Configuration Manager This letter contains latest information about the above mentioned software. 1. General Configuration Manager is a generic configuration tool for all Bosch IP Network Video Products, both software modules and hardware devices. It is used for configuration and licensing of the various products where it may be included on the product CD. Configuration Manager is a feature release based on version Its main purpose is to support all CPP4 and CPP6 devices running firmware up to It is also the configuration tool for Bosch Video Client (BVC) It includes VSDK 5.83 and latest plug-ins for IVA configuration. This version supports English as main language. The other 10 languages are not fully translated yet. Make sure to always use the latest released version. Changes to last version marked blue. 1

2 2. New Features Support for firmware 6.20 and its updated Intelligent Video Analysis. The scheduler has been made global to include recording, IVA and scene mode schedules in a single overview. Holiday import has been added to the global scheduler. NetApp E series have been integrated into discovery and configuration, not requiring a separate tool anymore. 3. Changes Various smaller issues have been fixed. External IQN-Mapper Tool removed External E-Series discovery replaced by integrated discovery. Localization updated 2

3 4. Restrictions; Known Issues VGA settings for VIP XD are not available in this Configuration Manager version. Must be set up via the product s web site. When using the Wizard to re-configure this will not work for password-protected devices. FTP address must be IP address only, URL is not supported. When the integrated iqn-mapper shall be used in a non-vrm environment, the iscsi configuration passwords must be set equal at all iscsi targets. Alarm input rules of AUTODOMEs running firmware version 4.10 cannot be configured correctly in Configuration Manager. The Web interface shall be used instead. After changing the IP address of a device the settings page might not be updated automatically. Manual refresh might be required. The Wizard may run into a timeout situation when configuring a camera with motion recording. A Retry button appears which needs to be pressed then. When time zone had been changed, synchronization to PC in Basic Mode does not update time zone. In Date/Time settings page, the date and time values shown are from PC instead of from device. Upload of a configuration file might be incomplete if it includes recording settings. It is recommended to check the settings manually. Special characters like &<:>@ are not allowed for names and passwords. If entered into devices using the Web GUI the Configuration Manager will not be able to access the devices. BVC system setup is limited to 200 inputs (cameras, relays, digital I/O). Devices which are assigned to a recorder (e.g. VRM) are not marked in the Wizard with a green checkbox if another recorder is selected. Multiple assignments may happen and special attention is needed. Saving empty password may cause I/O error message without effect for the setting. User names and passwords for BVC user management are limited to 31 characters. Database path must be re-written if previous installation did not use default path. VRM parameters can only partially be dragged into table view. On Windows 7 with UAC used, license application can only be performed when Configuration Manager is run in administrator mode. The following device context menu items are not available or not enabled for a Divar 700: File Upload, Settings, Device Network Settings, Show in Web browser, Show Settings in Web Browser, Blink LED, Reset. 'Device info' dialog for Divar 700 only shows the general information tab and information that can be retrieved through the VideoSDK interfaces. 3

4 Configuration Manager Wizard does not support Divar devices. Divar devices can neither be added to the system nor configured via Configuration Manager Wizard. No IPv6 & DNS check for VRM databases. DIBOS/BRS configuration (neither configuration pages nor via external configuration tools) is not supported. For cameras with Intelligent Tracking function, Click on object is not supported by Configuration Manager. If no IPv6 network is available, the initial IP address configuration of DLA E-Series must be done by setting the PC s IP address in the range of the storage s default IP address for discovery. Once set to a valid IP range, the Configuration Manager PC can be used with its standard IP address. The handling of recovery of old data on a LUN when being assigned to a VRM system affects the checkbox "restore database" in the LUN assignment dialog to have no function any more. Configuration Manager may run into an access violation when an ONVIF camera with pan and tilt but no zoom function is added to Video Streaming Gateway, e.g. like Axis M3007. For legacy devices, e.g. VideoJet 8008 or VideoJet 10, all tabs and buttons regarding motion detection are deactivated, thus motion detection cannot be configured. FTP accounts passwords are not stored during Backup & Restore settings. ONVIF devices from local network are added to network scan result whereas devices that are outside the local network cannot be detected. User interface for the DIVAR AN 3000/5000 FW upgrade feature is only available in English. If the DIVAR AN 3000/5000 FW upgrade transfer is interrupted by a power or network failure the remote system might get in a state that it can t be upgraded again through Configuration Manager. In this case, the upgrade must be done manually through the WEB UI or locally on the device. A FW upload of a DIVAR AN 3000 or DIVAR AN 5000 can only be cancelled during the transfer phase. Once the file has been transferred to the device and the upgrade process has been started this cannot be cancelled anymore. Since Configuration Manager 5.30 a VRM lock on a device cannot be removed anymore. The device must be factory-defaulted or added to another VRM. For dual recording, Configuration Manager does not allow to assign the identical LUN to both recording entries. VCA tabs, e.g. Motion Detection may not be refreshed after firmware upgrade or downgrade. Manual refresh might be necessary. Note: If multiple Configuration Managers are used in the network, maintaining the same or an overlapping set of devices simultaneously, unpredictable effects might occur when writing to the devices. 4

5 Note: For stand-alone installation of Configuration Manager 5.0 or higher,.net 4.5 must be installed. Note: Due to the change to.net 4.5 DiBos devices cannot be found by network scan if.net 3.5 is not installed. If required install.net 3.5 in addition to the Configuration Manager installation package. 5. Features and Changes with former versions New Features with Support for new devices: o DINION IP bullet 4000 o DINION IP bullet 5000 o DIVAR IP 6000 (new model) o VIDEOJET decoder 8000 Display of watermark icon in video window is now configurable for Bosch Video Client. For ONVIF devices, a PTZ node is added if a device supports PTZ. Changes with Table view performance improved. New Features with Support for CPP4 and CPP6 cameras running FW 6.11 added. Device IP conflicts are highlighted in device tree. Support of multiple network interfaces for network scan. Network scan is executed in parallel on all available network interfaces. An optional button to expand/collapse the device tree can be added to the blue navigation bar via preferences. Unconnected video inputs on multi-channel encoders can be excluded from being displayed. When nodes are expanded, the sub-tree is scrolled into the visible screen area of the device tree. Auto-completion in device tree filter has been added. Changes with Optimizations in device tree to increase performance and to improve handling of more than 3000 devices. 6

Device type is now correctly displayed for DIVAR AN 3000 and DIVAR AN An issue with timeout of remote FW upgrade on DIVAR AN 3000 and DIVAR AN 5000 via low bandwidth connections has been fixed. 7

8 New Features with Recording profile pages have been reworked for improved usability. ANR 2.0 can be configured to a standard use case by just enabling a checkbox. A context menu (right-click) has been added to My devices tree that allows filtering to increase usability: o When displaying all iscsi targets of a device a filter can be set to only display the targets belonging to the same E-series drive. o A LUN filter can be set which displays all targets belonging to the same physical storage. o A filter can be set which displays all targets with read-only LUNs and their parent nodes. The IVA configuration video can be enlarged as much as possible for easier configuration and drawing lines and fields. Double click opens a separate scalable video window. A second double click changes the video window to full screen. Serial number is shown in "General->Version information" tab below HW/FW versions. This allows it to be pulled into table view. The port being used for mass firmware upgrade to DIVAR AN 3000 and 5000 can be made persistent. It is shown and configurable in the firmware upgrade window. Sites can now be collapsed or expanded with one click, making device selection within large site structures easier. Firmware upload via Configuration Manager is possible towards DIVAR IP 2000 once it is using VRM Firmware upload is possible towards ONVIF devices. In My devices a column has been added to show the firmware revision where retrievable from a device. For devices that are not continuously connected the last found firmware is stored until the next connection. Changes with Start-up performance has been increased due to a restructured database which also requires less installation memory. Usability has been improved by pulling parameter names and input fields closer together to avoid large distances due to window scaling. 8

9 Changes with Firmware version of DIVAR AN 3000 and DIVAR AN 5000 is now displayed in firmware upload dialog window before and after the upload. Device info also shows firmware version of DIVAR AN 3000 and DIVAR AN Features with Support of the new panoramic cameras: o FLEXIDOME IP panoramic MP 180 o FLEXIDOME IP panoramic MP 360 o FLEXIDOME IP panoramic MP 180 IVA o FLEXIDOME IP panoramic MP 360 IVA It is now possible to perform a firmware upgrade of DIVAR AN 3000 and DIVAR AN The upgrade can be performed for multiple devices in parallel. Changes with Load time has been reduced a lot together with a more compact XML footprint. Scan for DSA-E series storage now shows progress indication. Features with ONVIF Profile S client conformance could be achieved and will be posted on the ONVIF web site accordingly. Configuration Manager database can be imported via.csv file. This e.g. allows easier migration from existing installations including usernames and passwords, as well as tree structuring and additional attributes. 9

Changes with Two iscsi LUNs can be managed for local recording. Maximum I-frame distance in encoder profiles is now also based on configurable MAX_GOP_LENGTH_VALUE. Features with Support of platform CPP6 and products based on this with initial firmware 5.91: o DINION IP starlight 8000 MP o DINION IP ultra 8000 MP Support of Video Client 1.6 which is required for viewing of 4K Ultra HD and Multi-Mega-Pixel video streams up to 12 MP. Includes VideoSDK 5.80 which supports 4K Ultra HD and Multi-Mega-Pixel video streams up to 12 MP. 10

11 Changes with Configuration Manager now differentiates between DIVAR IP models and displays DIVAR IP with value level number. Features with Device type and platform indication added to Identification section. Features with Configuration Manager 5.0 is internally split up into a service which performs the communication to devices and which provides an API to a user interface, and the user interface itself. This is not visible to a user itself but prepares a path to future applications. New user experience by new style and layout New design follows the recent Bosch Software User Interface style guide and incorporates usability improvements that will also be presented in future firmware and software releases. Usability improvements, achieved by a variety of modifications and new features: o Basic and Advanced Mode have been recombined due to the easier handling and structure. o Simplified navigation via Blue Bar tabs and icons. o Icons have been reworked to provide a clearer indication of device type and status. o Responsive filter function for device trees. o Enhanced multi-select function down to camera level even for multi-channel devices. o Colors in recording scheduler are aligned with VRM 3.10 and BVMS color scheme. o Re-arranged and streamlined configuration pages for cameras and encoders to make configuration faster and simpler. Support of site configuration for use in Bosch Video Client. Support of VRM pools with new icon. Support of CPP4 and CPP5 devices with firmware Support of DIVAR IP 3000 and 7000 as DVR-like appliance systems. Support of alarm recording configuration in Video Streaming Gateway. Installer is signed by official Bosch ST certificate to allow installation on Win7/8 platforms. 11

12 Changes with The default communication protocol which is selected when a device is added to the system has been changed to HTTP. This increases the chance to reach a device regardless of where it is located, so also via remote or Internet links. But this may also has an impact on functionality requiring UDP or multicast communication. If so, you may choose non-http communication on adding to system to ensure the desired communication flow. Affected areas may be: o Video connections using TCP conflict with Multicast mechanism. o Replay from VRM only may cause a performance loss. o Some functions may not be available, e.g. display of protected recordings from VRM in the timeline of Video Client. 12
