BMI Student Awards bmi.com/foundation/ A series of scholarships for various music and art-related fellowships and awards. CSN Provides up to six years of funding for Swedish students to study in the U.S. or other countries. Supported by the Government of Sweden. Cyprus Childrens Fund, Inc Administers several scholarship programs for study in the U.S. Davis-Putter Scholarships Need-based grants (up to $10,000) to undergraduate or graduate students actively working for peace and justice on campus and/or in the community. U.S. citizenship is not a consideration, but applicants must be living in the U.S. East-West Center: South Pacific and East Timor Scholarship Programs Funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, USSP provides educational opportunities for individuals to pursue degree study at U.S. institutions in fields relevant to development needs of their home country. Scholarships are awarded for undergraduate degree study. Priority is given to applicants seeking degrees that address national development needs, agriculture, undergraduate business, computer science, education, environmental studies, journalism, political science, and public administration. Eligible countries: East Timor, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. Echoing Green Foundation Fellowships Seeks to provide seed funding and support to more than 450 social entrepreneurs with bold ideas for social change in order to launch groundbreaking organizations around the world. Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay contest for full-time juniors or seniors. Prizes range from $500 - $5,000. Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation Grants for young artists working in the following areas: paintings, drawing, print making, sculpture. Awards are listed in Canadian dollars. Entomological Society of America Scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in entomology, biology, zoology, or a related science. Eurasian Undergraduate Exchange Program (UGRAD) Fellowships to first-, second-, and third-year undergraduate students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. This program supports one year of non-degree undergraduate study in the United States in the particular fields. page 2

3 Explorers Club - Youth Activity Fund Grants to support research projects by high school students and college undergraduates dedicated to the advancement of scientific knowledge of the world. Awards typically range from $500-1,500. A few awards may be granted up to a $5,000 award level. Foundation for Educational Development Provides additional financial support for Czech students to study abroad. Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund For undergraduate and graduate students of Greek descent, between the ages of 17 and 25. Humane Studies Fellowships For undergraduate and graduate students planning academic careers with liberty-enhancing research interests. More than 100 fellowships up to $15,000 are awarded annually. J. W. Saxe Memorial Fund Annual $1,000 scholarship to one or more undergraduate or graduate students working in public service. Must have a proposed internship or project and letters of reference in order to apply. Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships Community college students who are sophomores or recent alumni and are transferring to a four-year institution. Open to all fields of study at any accredited university in the U.S. or abroad. Meant to enable community college students to transfer to a 4-year institution in order to complete a bachelor s degree. Award is up to $30,000 per year for an average of 2.5 years. Deadline: late January. John Bayliss Radio Scholarship 15 Scholarships for juniors, seniors, and graduate students majoring in Broadcast Communications. King Faisal Foundation Scholarship Funding opportunity up to three years for Muslim students in Medicine, Engineering, and sciences (Physics, Chemistry, and Geology). For study at an accredited European or North American university. Deadline: late May. Macedonian Government Stipend The Macedonian Ministry of Education offers a limited number of full scholarships for undergraduate studies at top-ranked universities worldwide in the fields of agriculture, anthropology, and computer sciences. Microsoft Scholarships careers.microsoft.com/careers/en/us/collegescholarships.aspx Various scholarships for undergraduate students interested in computer science and related technical disciplines. One-year award for students attending institutions in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Recipients are also required to complete a salaried summer internship. National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Scholarships Student members of NABJ, foreign or American born, currently attending or entering an accredited four-year college/university in the U.S. or those who are candidates for graduate school are eligible for up to $25,000 per year. page 3

Olomouc Region Study Scholarship (Czech Republic) Offers partial scholarship support for students from Olomouc region of the Czech Republic. Open Society Institute (OSI) Individual Fellowships and Scholarships Provides scholarship opportunities for students from eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Haiti and Africa who want to improve the social, political, and intellectual environments of their home communities. Deadlines vary. Limited opportunities for students studying in the U.S. President of Bashkortostan (Russia) Provides grants for up to one year of study abroad for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as teachers and research scholars. The applicant must be a citizen of the Russian Federation and live in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Renaissance Scholarship Fund (Czech Republic) komunitninadace.cz/?id=227 Supports students from the city of Usti nad Labem and its region (Czech Republic). Administered by the Euroregion Labe Community Foundation. Limited opportunities for funding in the U.S. Road to Education Fund cestakevzdelani.praha.eu/jnp/cz/index.html Offers scholarships to students from Prague. Sponsored by the City of Prague. Roma Supplementary Scholarship Grant Program Provides partial support to Roma students who are citizens of Albania, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Turkey, Ukraine, and other select countries for pursuit of bachelor, master s, Ph.D. or post-doctoral education as full-time students at a recognized and well-established university outside of their home country or their country of residence. Funded by the Roma Education Fund. Rotalia Foundation Scholarships and research grants for individuals in the US and abroad who read, speak, and understand Estonian. Grants are given at all levels undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and for research. The foundation is particularly interested in supporting qualified individuals in the US to study in Estonia, and individuals in Estonia to study in the U.S. Rotary Foundation District Grants are created and managed by local Rotary Districts, and can fund scholarships for any level, length of time, location or area of study. Clubs work directly with their district to get funding. Slovene Human Resources Development and Scholarship Fund Administers numerous scholarship programs for students studying abroad. Society of Exploration Geophysicists Awards for undergraduates and graduates whose studies are directed toward a career in exploration geophysics in operations, teaching, or research. page 4

5 Society of Women Engineers Various awards for women pursuing baccalaureate or graduate degrees in engineering or computer science, as well as engineering and computer science students enrolled in ABET-accredited engineering programs. Deadline: mid-february (sophomores through graduate students), mid-may (freshmen). Some scholarships require U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency. Sons of Norway Foundation Scholarships for Norwegian undergraduates and graduates who study American heritage or Norwegian heritage in the following fields: arts, crafts, literature, history, music, and folklore. State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic Scholarship Program new.socar.az/socar/en/careers/scholarship-programs/study-abroad-program Provides full funding for Azerbaijani citizens interested in pursuing a career in the oil and gas industry and pursuing undergraduate or master s programs in economics, engineering, human resources management, information technology, or petroleum engineering. The scholarships, awarded to 50 students per year, are funded by SOCAR and cover application fees, visa-related expenses, tuition, medical insurance, transportation, and living expenses. Student Academy Awards Awards and cash grants offered for student films. Student Grants Ministry of Finance (Cyprus) Awards small grants for any Cypriot studying at an accredited college/university, regardless of financial need, in any field of study. Studiefinanciering (The Netherlands) Provides grants and loans for Dutch students to study abroad in degree-granting programs. Funded by the Dutch Government. Ukrainian Technological Society of Pittsburg Awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students demonstrating academic excellence and financial need. Students must be of Ukrainian ancestry and living in Western Pennsylvania, the Austintown-Youngstown areas, and the northern panhandle of West Virginia. Zdenek Bakala Foundation (Czech Republic) Offers generous financial support to Czech students for undergraduate and graduate study at U.S. and British universities. page 5
