4 STAFF Dr. Daryl B. Stone Director and Founder Dr. Daryl Stone successfully defended his Doctoral Dissertation, at George Washington University, on Election Day, November 4, The title of his dissertation is African-American Males in Computer Science Examining the Pipeline for Clogs. His goal is to enhance the recruitment, preparation and retention of minorities in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) areas, specifically, the Computing Discipline. Dr. Stone earned his Masters at Bowling Green State University and his B.S. from Bowie State University. He is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Bowie State University. Dr. Stone teaches courses in the area of Internet Programming, Oracle Database Development and Programming in C/C++. Dr. Stone is the Founder and Director of the CPU Camp (Computer Programming for Youth). CPU Camp introduces computer programming and the college experience to African-American Males ages Charles Hobson, Jr. Undergraduate Assistant Charles Hobson Jr. is the son of Charles and Regina Hobson. Charles graduated from Seneca Valley High School, located in Germantown, Maryland, in Charles is currently a junior, majoring in Computer Science, at Bowie State University. During the academic year, Charles works as a Mathematics Tutor in the BSU Math Department. Charles possesses strong computer programming skills, as evidenced by his first and second place finishes in the past two BSU Computer Programming Contests. Christopher Stone 9th Grade Friendly High School Computers have affected my world completely because people all over the world have them and it is an easy way to communicate with people. I could not image the world without them. Jonathan Webb 8th Grade Isaac Gourdine Middle School I learned that computer affect my life in many ways, it will help me with my job...meet new people, and have fun. Timothy Swindell 11th Grade Suitland High School CPU camp helped better prepare me for a career as a Computer Engineer. I hope to be able to apply these skills in college at MIT.

With this technology, I ve been able to get things done in a quicker pace. I wont have to struggle with my work anymore. Brandon Huguley Maurice J.
