2 SAGE GROWTH PARTNERS DOn MCDanIEl BIOGraPHy SHEET 2 REPRESENTATIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS Led multiple strategic planning efforts for hospitals, health system, physician entities, insurers, management organizations, technology firms, academic institutions, trade associations, etc. Managed the selection of an electronic medical record information system on behalf of a provider network representing over 100 physicians across 60 health care delivery sites. Developed a comprehensive Preferred Provider Network for a large eastern insurer. Managed development of a comprehensive Information Systems Strategic Plan for a multi-entity health system. Led the effort to select the practice management and managed care systems for the client. Acted in a turnaround role as Chief Operating Officer for a health care information services and outsourcing firm. Role included deployment of new mission-critical transaction technology and redesign of key operational infrastructure. Managed the North American sales and account management activities of an international health care technology firm offering clinical decision support and multi-media research management applications, predominantly targeting the Medical School/Academic Health System market in the U.S. and Canada. Developed business plan for creation of new insurance services subsidiary for large insurer. Led a comprehensive review and redesign effort in the critical areas of finance, medical management and network management for one of the largest Medicaid Health Plans in the Southeast. Acted as the interim Chief Marketing Officer for a health plan serving 125,000 members in the Southeast U.S. Responsible for re-configuration of the sales and marketing department and the development of a strategy that increased enrollment by 20% in six months. Led development of a comprehensive Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) product for an insurance organization in the southeast. PPO was created as a licensed product, and served the commercial and occupational health components of the insurer s business. Led economic analysis of the physician practice environment and its affect on health care access in Maryland. Major contributor to a landmark economic study analyzing the impending medical malpractice crisis in Maryland. Led the development of numerous large Independent Physician Associations (IPAs) and other physician organizations, including physician network development and contracting, third party contracting, ancillary network contracting, development of payment and incentive systems, and implementation of administrative and technology infrastructure. Directed and managed an effort to reengineer business processes for a major multispecialty group practice. Changes in process flow led to a reduction in FTE staff and costs, an increase in both patient and staff satisfaction, and a significant decrease in days in receivables (from 110 to 60 days in receivables in 4 months). In addition, initiated the development of a Strategic Plan to position the organization for success.

Efforts included marketing, contracting with various third party payers, staffing, implementation of information systems, and development of the practice control environment. Provided sell-side advisory and merger/acquisition support services to a number of physician entities. Led Hospital affiliation discussions for large US health system in key market. Effort included market assessment, strategic partner discussions, analysis of potential partners, and development of relationship framework. Led large Medicaid-dependent provider organization through mandated Medicaid 1115 Waiver in the state of Maryland. Directed a $10 million Behavioral Health Agency that included traditional outpatient services, a partial hospitalization program, crisis response services, and comprehensive substance abuse services. Led large, integrated Revenue-cycle management and physician services company providing accounts receivable management services to over 100 physician entities. Managed several successful seven-figure grant submission, awarded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) allowing a large provider organization to deploy health information technology.
