We are dealing with your request under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act You requested information regarding the HR systems and recruitment. Specifically you asked for: 1. The total Number of Permanent Employees within the Trust in the last 12 months? Answer: The average number of permanent staff during the twelve months to 30 Nov 2015 was 7843, this equated to a Whole Time Equivalent (WTE) of Total Number of Contract Workers within the Trust in the last 12 months? Answer: The Trust does not hold these numbers. The Trust holds contracts with the service provider rather than with specific staff who are employed by the service provider. 3. Total Number of Agency Staff within the Trust in the last 12 months? Answer: 600 WTE. 4. Rate of attrition in the last 12 months for Permanent Employees within the Trust? Answer: The turnover rate in the 12 months to 30 Nov 2015 was 13.18%.

2 5. Number of vacancies for your Trust in the past 12 months? Answer: It is not possible to provide an accurate number of vacancies for a 12 month period. The number of vacancies fluctuates on a month by month basis with some needing to be re-advertised if they are not filled. 6. Number of staff recruited for your Trust in the past 12 months? Answer: The Trust recruited 1162 staff in the twelve months to 30 Nov 2015, 935 of these were appointed to permanent/temporary posts with a combined WTE of There were 227 casual appointments in the same period. 7. Recruitment advertising expenditure in the past 12 months? Defined as external advertising costs, design and artwork charges made, trade fairs attended. Answer: 96, (external advertising costs). Please note, there will be other costs but in order to gather this information it would take over the statutory timescale as it would involve a manual examination of hundreds of transactions. 8. Name of the external advertising Partner? Defined as a recruitment advertising agency. Answer: N/A as a Trust we do not use one. 9. Number of jobs posted on NHS Jobs website in the last 12 months? Answer: 1184 vacancies advertised between the dates 9/12/14 8/12/ Recruitment Agency fees in the last 12 months - total? Recruitment agencies defined as external recruitment companies charging a percentage of salary for the provision of staff. Expenditure being the fee, which is usually charged as a percentage of salary. Answer: The Trust has does not centrally record this information. We are refusing this section of your request for information pursuant to section 12 of the Act on the grounds that we estimate that the cost of complying with the request would exceed the appropriate limit. The appropriate limit at the present time is which equates to eighteen and a quarter hours of work by a member of staff at the rate of 25 per hour. The Trust does not record recruitment agency fees separately and this would take a number of days to gather the information required as we pay around 25,000 agency invoices per year. 11. Recruitment agency fees - locum? This is any fees an agency would apply for finding and/or supplying a Locum for any position within the Trust.

Costs (fees) paid to recruitment agencies? Answer: Please note, the Trust has not paid any costs as yet. 13. Does your Trust have a Graduate Recruitment Scheme? Answer: Not for general recruitment. 14. How many Graduates have your Employed under this scheme within the last 12 months? Answer: None. 15. Does your Trust use a Talent Management System? Defined as an online solution used to talent-bank staff, used as a primary recruitment tool. Answer: No. 16. If yes, which Talent Management System do you use? What is the term of the contract? When is this due for review/renewal? 17. Does your Trust use a bespoke Candidate Management software? Answer: No. 18. If yes, which Candidate Management software do you use? What is the term of contract? When is this due for review/renewal? 19. Does your Trust have an online on boarding solution? Defined as a web-based online induction solution, with training modules Answer: We have an internal e-learning solution. 20. If yes, which online onboarding solution do you use? What is the term of the contract? When is this due for review/renewal?

4 21. Total Workforce Advertising, Acquisition and Onboarding budget for the last 12 months? Answer: 82,729 which relates only to external advertising costs. Please note, there may be other budgets but again this would take a manual examination of a number of transactions and hence it would take in excess of the statutory timescale. 22.
