5 To date, the Okanogan Co. PUD has constructed 13 towers to support the PUD s Wireless Broadband network with towers located in the following communities; Oroville, Ellisford, Tonasket, Omak, Okanogan, Malott, Monse, Brewster and Twisp. As of Today, local ISPs use the PUD s Broadband Wireless Network to provide Internet access to over 2200 wireless subscribers within the OKPUD serving territory. The Okanogan Co. PUD has an 85 mile fiber optic backbone that runs along the Hwy 97 corridor from Pateros to the Canadian Border. The Okanogan Co. PUD has fiber optic distribution networks in Oroville, Tonasket, Omak, Okanogan, Brewster, Pateros and Twisp. As of 3/15/2010, local ISPs use the Okanogan Co. PUD s optical network to provide broadband services to approxamately 200 fiber customers within the OKPUD serving territory.
