President s Report (Amie Hesbach) Legislative survey was open from May 12, 2011 until July 4, 2011 and resulted in 37 responses. This was in follow-up from our legislative lunch in 2010 in SanDiego.
2 A full report of the results will be in a forthcoming newsletter (OPTP) and on the ARSIG website. Practice analysis work day yesterday with quite a bit of progress made by Carrie, Amie, and Cheryl. There are concerns about missing data and the statistical analysis may have to be revisited. What are members communication preferences? We can use blast , listserve, bulletin board, website for communication. Remember that you will not receive blasts if your is private through the APTA or if you are not a SIG member. Contact the Ortho Section office to check your membership status. Vice-President/Education Committee Report (Carrie Adrian) CSM 2012 was a success! ISC is being written now with monographs on canine evaluation, equine evaluation, and red flags/zoonoses. Please let Carrie know if you have any CSM 2013 programming ideas. CSM will be in SanDiego in January 2013! (This is a recent change.) Educational Opportunities CSM Pre-conference Course: We would LOVE to do a preconference in 2013! Annual Conference Course: Do we want to have a presence at more than one conference per year? Residency/Fellowship Discussion: This continues to evolve. Orthopaedic Section Conference, May 2-4, 2013, Orlando. This will be a hands-on advanced conference. Stay tuned for more details.

Maybe one equine and one canine rehab newsletter per year with two others less focused? We d love feedback and are always looking for submissions. Orthopaedic Section Liaison Report (Jay Irrgang) Nothing new to report. Other Old Business Canine clipboard available at Ortho Section booth (and online). Equine clipboard is coming (Jen Brooks). Resources for ACCE s and CI s (Cheryl Riegger-Krugh) no report. Taskforce for the Definition of Standards of Education for Non-Physical Therapists (Cheryl Riegger-Krugh) no report. New Business Protocol for Reporting Animal Rehabilitation Issues. There have been some recent, more prevalent concerns about the following: Misuse of term physical therapy Misuse of title physical therapist How can we police ourselves? There was a suggestion that there be a letter from the SIG regarding these issues that SIG members can use in these cases.
5 Veterinary Insurance Reimbursement Issues: Do we want to collaborate with the AARV regarding this? Physical Therapy in Animal Rehabilitation Award: Should we have an award for a SIG member? We will need a committee to further investigate and to set standards. WCPT/IAPTAP (International Association of Physical Therapists in Animal Practice) Report (Lin McGonagle and Steve Strunk): The report is attached here. Open Forum Dr. VanDyke updated us on the AARV, ACVSMR, and IAVPM. IAVRPT Symposium, August 12-15, 2012, Vienna, Austria.
