The DME-2014 was organized by the CDPM in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme WFP-Pakistan. Details are available at Coordinator for Webinar Sessions in collaboration with Harvard University South Asia Institute (SAI) Coordinated and led two successful Webinar Sessions on Emergency Management and Response organized by the Harvard University South Asia s Institute. Led a large group of Students (i.e M.Sc. BS-7th, 5th Semester Disaster Management) to attend the first session on Incident Command and the second session on Mass Casualty and Triage held at the Video Conference Hall, University of Peshawar. The Session was part of the Harvard University South Asia Institute's three interactive sessions on Disaster Management and Emergency Response 2014 Organizer, One Day Model Exhibition, held at the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management, University of Peshawar-Pakistan 3 of 8

4 Motivated and supervised students in preparing and displaying their paintings related to public safety and disaster management at the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management, University of Peshawar 2013 Organizer, 5th Disaster Management Exhibition (DME) 2013, a jointly organized event of the CDPM, ACF-Pakistan and UNESCO Pakistan held at University of Peshawar-Pakistan on November 20, 2013 Organized a two-day Disaster Management Exhibition (DME-13) at the University of Peshawar in which more than 55 national and international organizations participated and presented their models. Mobilized all the available resources to make the event a success. More than 20,000 people belonging to different walks of life visited the event Organizer, One Day Model Exhibition, held at the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management, University of Peshawar-Pakistan Motivated and supervised students in preparing and displaying their paintings and models related to public safety and disaster management at the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management, University of Peshawar 2012 Organizer, 4th Disaster Management Exhibition 2012-a jointly organized event of the CDPM, ACF-Pakistan and Pakistan Science Foundation held at University of Peshawar on November 07, Organized a two-day Disaster Management Exhibition (DME-12) at the University of Peshawar in which more than 60 national and international organizations participated and presented their models. Established a long lasting communication and relationship with organizations working in the development sector. More than 20,000 people belonging to different walks of life visited the event. Study Tour Organizer/Leader, Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM), University of Peshawar-Pakistan Organized and led five successful Study Tours with students to different areas of Pakistan. A diverse range of activities were arranged during the trips including presentations on the vulnerable areas, Forestation, Land Slides Studies and collection of data from respondents in the field. During these trips a series of seminars on Emergency Management were also organized in collaboration with Rescue Coordinator, Student Societies, Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM), University of Peshawar-Pakistan 4 of 8

5 Coordination and management of student participation in different recreational and cocurricular activities at the Centre besides teaching academic courses to them. Societies include Blood Donation Society, Social Welfare Society, and Disaster Response Force etc. at the University of Peshawar General Secretary, Khyber Islamic & Cultural Society, University of Peshawar Supervised Emergency Aid for Flood affected Persons Administered by Peshawar University Teachers Association(PUTA), University of Peshawar (2010) Actively participated in fund raising campaign, for IDPs, of Malakand at the University of Peshawar (2009) Represented the society in a Conference on Security Situation and Students Role at the university of Peshawar administered by the Interior Ministry, Police Department (2010) Represented the Society in a two days Seminar on Democracy in Educational Institutions, organized by BARGADD (an NGO) (2010) Prepared annual performance report of the Khyber Islamic & Cultural Society, (2009) organized Seminar on Islam, the Religion of Peace at the University (2009) Organized International Seminar on Mohammad (PBUH), The Peace Messenger (2009), Guest Speaker was Dr. Talp Alp from Turkey. TRAININGS, CONFERENCES & SEMINARS ATTENDED Days Workshop on Research Philosophies and Methods in Finance Attended a 4-Days workshop on Research Philosophies and Methods in Finance organized by the Quid-e-Azam College of Commerce, University of Peshawar-Pakistan at Baragali Summer Campus from 5 th August to 8 th August Two Days Workshop on Flood Hazard, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment Attended two days training workshop on Flood Hazard, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment, organized by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The training focused on the key issues related to flood hazard, vulnerability of population and the risk assessment methodologies introduced by different disaster management practitioners in Pakistan Live Online Consultation: World Humanitarian Summit Attended the second Session of Online Consultation hosted by International Association of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP). Also served as a focal person for correspondence from CDPM side. The presentation was arranged by ERRA- Pakistan in collaboration with CDPM. The presentation highlighted the inclusion of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) measures in the newly under-construction city 2014 National Conference on Geo-Spatial Data Standardization, Policy and Data Sharing Attended a one day conference on Geographical Information System (GIS) Activities in Pakistan organized by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Islam Abad. The conference aimed at understanding of Spatial Data Standardization, Spatial Data Policy, and Data Sharing. 6 of 8

7 Dated: March 11, Training on the Use of Turnitin Software for Research Evaluation Received comprehensive training on the use of Turnitin Software for the evaluation of research reports, thesis and papers at the Quality Enhancement Cell of the University of Peshawar. Dated: Training on the Use of Information Technology in Research Received Technical Training on Information and Communication Technologies, Organized by Higher Education Commission (HEC)-Pakistan at University of Malakand Research Awareness Session Attended a series of awareness Sessions on the use of research and its significance for prospective students at the University of Peshawar. The guest speaker for the series was Dr. Ali Muhammad Mohmand, PhD, University of Liverpool, United Kingdom Different Methods of Transcription in Qualitative Research Participated in a series of sessions on different methods of transcription in qualitative research interviews at the Institute of Management Studies, University of Peshawar. The guest speaker was Dr. Madiha Goher, PhD, Essex Business School, United Kingdom.
