2 Me and Jose, one of my sponsored children who has a genetic disorder that leaves him without the use of his arms and legs. What a blessing to see his smiling face! Life is full of seasons. There are times of preparation and planning, times for turning soil and planting seed, times for ensuring what you ve planted has everything necessary to grow, and of course times to harvest what you ve planted was a spring season for Give2GiveHope, following the quiet and subdued winter season of It was good to get back in the swing of things and I m looking forward to all the activities of the summer season ahead of us from all the seeds that were planted last year. I was asked to serve as a consultant this year and to help lead a trip to Honduras in June for a church. It s amazing to see how God is raising up others to come alongside of our organization and partner with us to accomplish even more than we could alone. The Give2GiveHope Trade School (Carpentry Shop) saw a lot of activity this year and we re excited to share the progress of this project with you. We draw closer to finishing this project and look forward to the harvest time when young men are able to gain some vocational skills and ultimately support themselves and their families... and of course, we look forward to Phase II which will benefit young women. We continue to see more children sponsored each month, which is a tremendous thing. Our volunteer staff in Honduras has had to grow to keep up with the number of children who are sponsored, which presents new challenges on how to keep our services flowing for all. Our team in Honduras has been incredible at coming up with solutions and there are many new hands that have come to assist our volunteer coordinators, Javier & Letty. It s so amazing to see how everyone pitches in and gives of their time to help ensure our programs continue uninterrupted. Thank you for your partnership with us, for your generosity and compassion to help us achieve the goals of providing much-needed food, clothing, medical care and education to impoverished children. 3 give2givehope vocational school - phase I We ve come a long way in just two years and are excited about the progress of our Carpentry Shop (Phase I) of the Vocational School. To date, we ve sent down $13,603 and another $5,000 was sent by Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church to help complete the first part of this project. We need to raise an additional $5,000 - $7,000 to complete Phase I. We would like to wrap up Phase I in 2015 and then purchase carpentry equipment for the students to use The youth have been learning building skills as they help with the construction of the school. Phase II is currently planned to start construction in This phase will be a large open classroom area where we can provide training and education for young women. One day we d like to be able to teach hygiene, childcare and parenting, basic medical care, and possibly even vocational training like sewing or how to run a home micro-business If you d like to help see this project to completion, please visit project clean h2ope In 2014, we tested the biosand filters once again and found that issues with the sand quality in Honduras have not been fixed. We ve decided that going forward, we will be using the Sawyer filters which are more portable, easier to install, cost less, provide immediate clean water, and are just as effective. Funds are set aside to purchase an additional 70 filters in If you d like to help bring clean water to a family, visit Even young children help as they are able because they understand what this school means for their future. (Left) Ken installs the filtration end of the Sawyer water filter. These filters cost around $50 and provide a lifetime of clean water to an entire family. In 2014, we made connections with another non-profit who can supply the filters to us in-country so we re able to buy them as we have funds and no longer need to purchase them in bulk in the US.

4 Child Sponsorship Continues to Grow We ended 2014 with 154 children sponsored - either getting food or education each month through donations from their sponsors. What a way to end the year on a high note! We saw an increase of 34% (39 children) during WOW! In December, we were able to celebrate the graduation of two more young men from CTECH trade school in Puerto Cortes, and a young woman from beautician school. There s a growing hunger among the teenagers to gain an education as they realize how important it is for their future. Unfortunately, sometimes it s a choice between necessary food and receiving an education. MiniMission 2014 The focus of our MiniMission 2014 in October was to check out the progress of the trade school, to encourage and provide direction to our volunteers, help plan a program to give out vitamins to children and pregnant mothers and to discuss vision for 2015 and beyond. Additionally, this year we were seeking confirmation that God was calling Ralph & Aleda Gilmore to serve as our first part-time staff to help ease the burden for our existing volunteer coordinators. After much discussion and prayer, we are happy to share the good news that they are itinerating and hope to be residents in Honduras by the end of The Gilmores bring a lot of great knowledge and gifts which will complement our existing volunteer staff. They will be administrating our program in Honduras, freeing up Pastor Javier & Letty for other ministries at our partner church, Monte de Santidad. Ogemaw Hills Mission Trip Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch, Michigan played a pivotal role in the foundation of Give2GiveHope and have been great partners with our organization since our founding. In 2014, they led their first trip back to Honduras since During their visit there, they moved over 1500 cement blocks across the river to help in the construction of the Trade School. They also installed 20 biosand clean water filters, visited the school at Sapadril Arriba, and spent a lot of time visiting and ministering to the community. It was a fantastic experience for the team and we are so grateful to have them as partners in this ministry and community. He was severely malnourished and lethargic from hunger when the team stopped by to visit late in the afternoon. His family had no food and they didn t know when their next meal would come. Because of you, Give2GiveHope was able to provide them food that day and provisions to last a few days more.
