1 r ARKANSAS PERFORMANCE BUDGETING & ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM AGENCY PROGRAM COMMENTARY The State Board of Examiners of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors is responsible for providing regulatory authority over persons who hold themselves out to the public as Licensed Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. The operation of the Board is funded from the receipt of fees charged by the agency for licensing. It is estimated that fees in the amount of $36,000 to $40,000 will be generated every two years. Board expenses basically consist of board member per diem and expenses. There is currently no projection for the Board to have any paid staff. Board expenses for each year of the biennium are not projected to increase beyond the current annual appropriation of $18,000 for the 2003 fiscal year, which has been established by DFA Cash Holding procedures.
