1 RAY L BURGESS 2727 Sheridan Drive, Tonawanda NY Phone: (814) ray.lee.burgess@gmail.com WORK EXPERIENCE Drupal Developer / Web Services Technician (04/ /2016) College of Health and Human Development, Penn State University University Park, PA My responsibilities included development of web applications in Drupal 7 for various purposes including the management and collection of student internship applications and experiences, the migration of ASP and.net applications and content into Drupal. I created a new responsive theme for the Colleges entire web presence. I brought new front end functionality to the website using contributed modules to create new ways to embed and access content. I administer the Drupal 7 installation which is used by many tens of content editors and support all their development requests. I am responsible for creating graphics for the web site, and also creating various widgets and containers to highlight content in meaningful and relevant ways. I have developed several applications in Drupal including a current project to manage and create Student Internship Records. I have significantly improved HHD.PSU.EDU web server functionality with my extensive knowledge of web server platform configuration. I did considerable reconfiguration to the existing server platforms which resided in a unique network environment. I worked to make Drupal run on Windows server correctly. I managed a farm of three Windows servers running IIS. Drupal Developer / Magento Developer / Web Services Technician (09/2014 3/2015) Paradox Labs Inc., Lancaster PA Responsibilities included working the customer support system to solve all kinds of customer website problems. Various project highlights include development of a complex Drupal 7 installation to showcase industrial products among other Drupal 7 development projects. Webserver administration duties include installing memcached for Drupal and Magento on RHEL and Centos and performing PHP

2 major version upgrades on enterprise server systems. Worked to solve problems to upgrade and enhance many Magento Free and Enterprise Edition clients websites. Worked with customers on a daily basis answering technical questions and providing guidance. Performed emergency server disaster mitigation on live web hosts. Worked on a half dozen Wordpress installations including a Wordpress to Drupal API system which allowed content sharing between different domains. Also responsible for office tasks such as set up and provisioning of password management software system and company wide services. Set up and administered Apache and Nginx web servers for Magento and Drupal. Wrote extensive PHP code for Drupal. Drupal Developer / Web Services Technician (07/ /2014) TEKsystems/TriComB2B, Dayton, OH Responsibilities included the setup and provisioning of a physical LAMP stack for 4 industrial and commercial web sites for a large corporation, integrating MySQL PHP Solr and Drupal. Responsible for 100% of the setup integration and provisioning of the Apache SOLR server and the Tomcat6 application server. Worked extensively with Drupal 7 templating with the Omega theme. Worked on responsive design structure and testing on various mobile platforms including Android and MacOS. Developed and authored a custom module to integrate Drupal nodes withdatabase insertion and migration techniques in a Windows server environment. Authored extensive documentation on the server install including a 19 page instruction manual for search engine tuning and content deployment for SOLR, which was later published. Trained IT staff on Ubuntu web hosting and SOLR management. Worked briefly on image processing using GIMP. Backend Web Programmer (11/2012 1/2013) T-Mark International, Buffalo, NY Responsible for monitoring 5 physical web servers and one virtual web server based in Japan. Analyze and network connectivity issues on office Intranet. Worked on web site migration between RHEL and CentOS SELinux distributions, including HTTPD package installation and configuration, and programming

3 language installation. Helped author a responsive design web site in HTML5, PHP, Javascript. Worked with Python and Django for an Intranet company application. Performed graphic processing for the web. Assisted other employees with QA of various web projects. Authored a web application in Javascript and XML. Co-wrote several new business proposals for T-Mark, Inc. Worked on websites created in Wordpress CMS. Installed Nagios software on CentOS SELinux. Web Programmer / Drupal Developer (11/2011 3/2012) Penn State University, State College, PA Worked on contract for TEK Systems at Penn State University for their Information Technology Services Department developing a custom Drupal 7 integration module for Kayako Engage Helpdesk Software. Position duties included secondary setup of web services on development server running CentOS. Built a custom LAMP environment including extensive Apache web services configuration for virtual hosts using SSL. Configured and worked with Cosign Secure, Intra- Institutional Web Authentication / single sign on software. The web application that I designed and built created a help desk application that allows real time IM customer support, IP Geo-location support, a remote desktop-like VNC client. The software also featured an administrator and consultant interface which allowed the PSU consultant to have access to a complete suite of customer service tools in one secure online interface. The department utilized GIT to keep track of software development changes. Module authored in PHP and Javascript. Web Programmer (9/2010 2/2011) Vermont Computing, Inc., Randolph, VT Responsible for the creation, management, and hosting of commercial web sites. In charge of VPS hosting services. Recommended security changes in the web server file system structure and dealt with customer requests on a daily basis. Was the on-call tech for all customer issues regarding and web site issues 7 days per week. Performed security audits on the web server to assess security risks to web site files through a variety of back end and MySQL database weaknesses. As the webmaster for Vermont Computing I was responsible for doing customer service related to web site issues. I was responsible for meeting

4 with clients and getting their feedback on their web site needs, upgrades to their web sites and problems with functionality. I administered Drupal applications. Oversaw the day to day running of 26 webs sites with many different CMS platforms and content.
