This role will work closely with staff across the university to deliver an integrated approach to developing content across all channels as part of delivering our over-arching content strategy. To be responsible for the project-management, creation and delivery of dedicated content across the website in support BU s strategic objectives, understanding the needs and preferences of different target audiences and interpreting them in to the creation of impactful and engaging content Main Responsibilities 1. Work with the Marketing Communications Manager to develop and implement a strategic and integrated approach to BU s external facing website and related digital content that achieves our strategic marketing objectives of improving student recruitment, reputation building, student, staff and alumni experience. 2. Plan and manage the continuous review and refreshment of all current site areas, understanding the needs and preferences of different target audiences to ensure communications are audience specific, impactful and engaging. 3. To work with the Marketing Communications Manager in prioritising and planning content activities for the content creators to ensure the achievement of all key performance objectives and responsibilities. 4. Maintain a current knowledge of legislation appropriate to the online systems and content,

2 such as data protection, accessibility, distance selling regulations etc. Work with colleagues in Legal Services to develop and communicate guidelines to university staff to ensure compliance of digital content. 5. Implement and manage the development of search engine optimised content across BU s website and digital applications. 6. Liaise with staff across BU to provide focused tailored and appropriate content for visitors to the external website which maximises the PR and marketing opportunities of the Schools and Professional Services. 7. Liaise and work with the Marketing Communications Manager and relevant staff in IT Web evelopment team to develop an appropriate governance framework for the BU external facing site. 8. Implement and manage the use of the BU website for key communications campaigns and messages, in line with BU marketing planning and activity. 9. To project plan and manage the implementation of specific website projects, working with staff from M&C and more widely, to agree the brief for the work, advise, plan and monitor. eliver to internal client satisfaction. 10. evelop, manage, support and motivate the team of Web Content ditors to ensure the achievement of all key performance objectives and responsibilities. 11. Provide input into development of clear editorial guidelines for university web authors, advise university web authors of these procedures, organise and deliver staff development and training as with the aim of effectively devolving the publishing of the corporate website. 12. Maintain knowledge of appropriate accessibility and A requirements, develop and communicate BU guidelines to enhance compliance in all digital content, as appropriate. 13.
