1 Special Event Regulations for the Los Angeles Convention Center The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) is working in close cooperation with the SCVA and its special event team to host volleyball inside the facility. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated to maintain the SCVA s ability to continue hosting this and other events inside the LACC facility. There is a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY regarding compliance with the facility and event rules & regulations, and city ordinances that apply to the LACC and surrounding parking facilities. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY PERSONAL ITEMS UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME. For security reasons, any unattended items may be removed by security or Police. EVENT SECURITY & THE LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT are working closely with the SCVA to ensure a safe and secure environment. Please observe posted signs regarding emergency policies & procedures inside the facility. FIRST AID & ATHLETIC TRAINERS are provided in each competition hall, please see posted signs. There are additional First Aid stations located in public lobby areas of each hall. Certified athletic trainers will be available on-site during all hours of play, and can provide both taping and ice (both fee-based) to players throughout the tournament. COMPETITION COURTS will be located in the WEST HALL and SOUTH HALL at the LACC. Please refer to the official tournament schedule available online for your daily court assignment and location. ( All courts are numbered. There are no other playing sites for this event. Court maps will be provided at the tournament results stations onsite, and online at

2 The MAIN TOURNAMENT DESK will be located in the SOUTH HALL. The Tournament Director & USAV Arbitrator will be located in this area. Results stations will be provided in each competition hall. NO COOLERS and NO OUTSIDE FOOD will be allowed inside the LACC. Coolers or large quantities of food left unattended outside the LACC facility, on the LACC campus, or near surrounding LA LIVE, Staples Center or adjacent facilities will be removed and disposed of by security for each property. Levy Restaurants, the official food service company at the LACC, will offer advanced orders for food and the purchase of bottled water, sports drinks and other options for teams interested in placing advanced orders for food & beverages. There will also be kiosks (coffee, drinks, grab-and-go snacks), and other food vendors (food trucks) will be available throughout the event days. NO CAMPING ALLOWED inside the LACC (including but not limited to all public areas (i.e. lobby, hallways), restricted areas, loading zones, parking lots and inside the competition halls). Designated areas for teams to rest, eat, etc. will be clearly marked inside the facility, and throughout the LACC campus. Rest areas for teams will be located in designated areas within the LACC. You are encouraged not to leave any items unattended at any time. Designated rest areas are intended for all teams to use, please remove your items once you are finished eating. Items left behind may be removed by security. The SCVA does not assume any responsibility for your personal items. PARKING is available in LACC designated lots for a daily charge as posted for each lot (no in & out access). (There is no tailgating or camping in the parking facilities.) There are many private parking lots surrounding the LACC which may have different rules & regulations. Please be advised that during the event, the price of such surrounding lots will increase due to the scheduled home games for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers NBA teams and the NHL s Los Angeles Kings. It is advised to use LACC parking lots if at all possible. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. There are numerous public transportation options available to and from the LACC including the LA DASH transit system, Metrolink trains, and Metro bus and light rail options. Metro Rail Service: Metro Rail Blue Line: The Metro Rail Blue Line connects with all Metro Rail and Metro Link lines at Union Station and stops on Flower at Pico (PICO STATION), directly across from the Los Angeles Convention Center. Metro fares average $1.50 each way. LADOT fares average.50 each way. Passes and pay stations are located at Metro stops. DROP OFF & PICK UP ZONES will be designated on PICO DRIVE only starting at 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on tournament days.

5 TOURNAMENT T-SHIRTS & MERCHANDISE will be on sale at the SCVA STORE from Friday, April 10th (during team check-in in the SOUTH HALL) through Monday, April 13 and again from Thursday, April 16 (during team check-in in the SOUTH HALL) through Sunday, April 19. The SCVA STORE will be located in the SOUTH HALL. Mizuno, an official sponsor of USA Volleyball and an official supplier of apparel & footwear for the SCVA, will be located in the SCVA Store in the SOUTH HALL. All teams will play in both halls during the event weekend. TOURNAMENT RESULTS will be updated on the AES ADVANCED EVENT SYSTEMS website ( COMPUTER RESULTS STATIONS will be located inside each competition hall. ATM MACHINES are located next to the Business Service Center near Concourse Hall and in West Hall in front of Hall A. VISITOR INFORMATION CENTERS staffed by the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau is available in the West and South Halls and can provide information on Los Angeles and surrounding communities. SMOKING is prohibited in all areas of the convention center property (inside and out). The LACC is a non-smoking building. VIDEO TAPING & USE OF TRIPODS is restricted. Please refer to the posted signs regarding the SCVA s policy on photography and videotaping (such policy is also found on the event s website Additionally, the Los Angeles Fire Department guidelines require that tripods may not be placed in any walkway or aisle between courts within 10-feet of any main walkway or doorway, and may not be left unattended under any circumstances. Tripods may not exceed a height of 8-feet above court surface areas. IF YOUR TEAM HAS CONTRACTED WITH A THIRD-PARTY VIDEO OR RECRUITING SERVICE THAT PLANS TO VIDEO TAPE INSIDE THE FACILITY, you must submit the required notification form to the SCVA with your acceptance of responsibility, the company s proof of insurance, and business license in addition to a film waiver that must be signed by all other parties who may be captured in your footage including minor children (requires parent or legal guardian permission). All third-party vendors must comply with both SCVA and LACC rules and regulations, failure to do so will result in removal from the premises. I ELECTRICAL OUTLETS in the convention center are not for public use. The SCVA is not responsible for any loss, damage or removal of any unauthorized items from electrical outlets in any part of the LACC facility. Devices plugged into electrical outlets inside the competition halls or throughout the facility will be removed and turned into the LACC lost & found.
