14 CENTRAL EUROPE (Central Europe) Trans-national Programme for the programming period, support for regional cooperation between Central European countries. The Central Europe Programme covers nine countries. Seven EU member states (Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary), all regions will participate in the program, while two Member States (Germany and Italy) are just a few regions. Thematic priorities: 1 Cooperating on innovation to make CENTRAL EUROPE more competitive (68,5 MEUR) 2 Cooperating on low carbon strategies in CENTRAL EUROPE (44 MEUR) 3 Cooperating on natural and cultural resources for sustainable growth in CENTRAL EUROPE (88 MEUR) 4 Cooperating on transport to better connect CENTRAL EUROPE (29 MEUR) The supported within priority projects should be aimed at one of the following three specific objectives SO 3.1 To improve integrated environmental management capacities for the protection and sustainable use of natural heritage and resources SO 3.2 To improve capacities for the sustainable use of cultural heritage and resources SO 3.3 To improve environmental management of functional urban areas to make them more liveable places In the course of monitoring the implementation of projects supported by the following general principles to keep in mind: negative environmental impact should not be 1. The first investment should be channeled towards more efficient and sustainable solutions. 2. It must be avoided those investments have a significant negative impact on the environment or climate are, and should support projects that reduce negative impacts on the rest; 3. When comparing the cost of each third investment alternatives to long-term life cycle considerations should be considered; 4. Green public procurement should be encouraged
