3 In your opinion, what are the two most important initiatives/issues that ASCLD/LAB should place resources into in the coming year and why? 1. A very high percentage of crime labs are now accredited. These accreditations are performed by ASCLD/LAB and other similar bodies. Yet it seems that the increased levels of accreditation do not mesh with the increasing number of stories titled "forensic science under scrutiny." ASCLD/LAB should be working with stakeholders to investigate this disconnect that undermines the fine work that the organization performs. 2. How will ASCLD/LAB adjust to the increasing calls for the individual certifications of scientists. Additional Information: (Include any additional information that voters should consider when making their decision) Recipient of the 2014 Longhetti-Keaton Assessor Excellence Award
