Niagara College offers more than 90 post-secondary diploma and post-graduate certificate programs, skills and apprenticeship training programs and two bachelor s degree programs. The programs range from one to four years in length. The College is bilingual and accommodates over 9,021 full-time and 1,209 continuing education students, including more than 500 international students from over 60 countries. Niagara College is home to the world-renowned Niagara Culinary Institute, the award-winning Niagara College Teaching Winery - Canada s first and only commercial teaching winery and Canada s first fully-operational teaching brewery. Niagara College has transformed its main campuses through a $90 million capital project the largest expansion in Niagara College history. At the Welland Campus, five new buildings opened in fall 2010, including a new student centre, athletic centre, academic wing, technology skills expansion and learning commons, and in spring 2011 the $40 million Applied Health Institute will open its doors. At the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus, the Wine Visitor + Education Centre opened in 2009, and in fall 2010 an expansion of the Niagara Culinary Institute and construction of the Niagara College Teaching Brewery were complete. The project incorporates the latest in green technologies resulting in some of the most sustainable buildings in Niagara. Niagara College enrolment totals over 9,000 full-time and 1,200 part-time students. Both the Welland and Niagaraon-the-Lake Campuses feature student residences and facilities and offer a variety of College services, such as the library, cafeteria, open access computer labs, Job Centre, Campus Store, athletic facilities and student pub and eatery. Extensive off-campus housing is also available. They help adults to either obtain their high school diplomas or expand their education to allow them to become skilled in a specific trade. These schools include: Niagara Women s Enterprise Centre, Professional Academy of Hair Design, Alexandria Professional Body Sugaring, and Father Fogarty, an adult Learning school. There are also four driving schools and three music schools located within the city. To further enhance the learning opportunities of visitors and residents of the City of Welland, there is a public library located in the Civic Square at City Hall. Page 8
