4 THE CASINO ARTS Spotlight ON THE ART OF THE CASINO The Casino Blackjack Badge is awarded to students who successfully complete the 80 hour course entitled Casino Blackjack Dealer (COO-370) at the Anne Arundel Community College Dealer School. In order to earn this badge, students must demonstrate proficiency in terms of card handling, check handling, payouts, and customer service. The Carnival Games Badge is awarded to students who successfully complete the 48-hour course entitled Carnival Games Dealer (CLI-356) at the Anne Arundel Community College Dealer School. In order to earn this badge, students must demonstrate proficiency dealing Mississippi stud, Ultimate Texas hold em, three card poker, four card poker and let it ride. The job market is very competitive. Set yourself apart. From the hiring manager s perspective, they want to see skill sets, they want to see the complete profile of the candidate and now that includes digital badges. AACC students can earn digital badges in a number of courses including casino blackjack, carnival games and minibaccarat. Once students successfully demonstrate proficiency in particular skills and complete the courses the digital badge is issued and the earner then can post the digital badge on social media, in a résumé or an online portfolio. When a potential employer clicks on the badge, it will link to a digital image which contains verified information on how and when the badge was earned.
