Clinical Teaching Experience: Oc Thr 8900 Adult Clinical Practice I do not routinely supervise students in the OT Adult Clinic. However, I have provided intermittent supervision on numerous occasions over the past six years to assist with unexpected faculty absences. Oc Thr 8950 Pediatric Clinical Practice Although not designated as a separate course at the time, I did provide 3 to 4 hours per week of student supervision in the OT Pediatric Clinic in Spring 2010 and Spring I also provided 1 hour per week of student supervision in Spring I continue to provide occasional student supervision in this clinic to assist the primary clinic faculty with schedule conflicts and unexpected absences. Academic advisor to approximately 20 undergraduate and graduate OT students annually. Research Experience: Wakonse Conference on College Teaching: Influence on University of Missouri Faculty Attendees March 2014 April 2015: Principal Investigator of a qualitative dissertation project involving semi-structured interviews of faculty members and review of archived documents, data analysis, and manuscript presentation and defense. First class of students began January Responsible for assisting with initial overall curriculum development and course design including the review and adoption of instructional materials and development of course syllabi and topical outlines to meet standards of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). Also involved in initial consultation with administrators from participant community colleges to determine prerequisites, graduation requirements, and logistics related to distance learning. Position also included provision of clinical OT services at the Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders 16 hours weekly. ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES Adjunct Clinical Instructor at University of Missouri Department of Occupational Therapy teaching Developmental Framework, a 3 credit hour introductory pediatric course with 26 students enrolled (2007, Jan May). Annual panel participant on Fieldwork Expectations Panel at the University of Missouri Department of Occupational Therapy program for students preparing for their first Level II Fieldwork ( ). Annual guest lecturer at the University of Missouri - Department of Occupational Therapy, teaching Introduction to Pediatric NDT for Pediatric Practice course ( ). PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE CLINICAL 12/2014 Present: Boone Hospital Center Columbia, MO PRN Occupational Therapist Provision of evaluation and intervention services one weekend per month in the inpatient rehab, orthopedic unit, intensive care unit, and general acute care settings. Also includes supervision of and delegation of tasks to COTAs and rehab techs. 8/ /2009: Ability Network Ste. Genevieve, MO Independent Contractor Staff Occupational Therapist (part-time) Evaluation and intervention services through the First Steps Early Intervention Program for children age 0-3 years in the Mid-Missouri area, approximately 5 hours weekly. Included development and revision of Individualized Family Service Plans. 11/2003 5/2009: Boone Hospital Center Columbia, MO Staff Occupational Therapist Clinical Duties: Evaluation and treatment of adult and geriatric patients on the inpatient rehab unit as well as all acute care units including medical, surgical, oncological, cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and all intensive care units. Primary occupational therapist on inpatient rehab unit, involving direct patient care, participation in interdisciplinary team planning meetings, and facilitation of family conferences and family training for discharge planning purposes. Additional Responsibilities: CQI Coordinator, OT Student Fieldwork Coordinator, intermittent Lead Therapist, preceptor for new staff. Recognitions: September 2008: Achieved Level V (highest rating) on Boone Hospital Center Career Ladder, which recognized therapists for clinical expertise and professional development accomplishments. Coordination of on-site continuing education events, ranging in size from participants. Recognition: 2002 Employee of the Year, recognized for making positive changes in the outpatient department in terms of program development, growth, and customer service. 4/1997 4/1998: National Healthcare Corporation Macon, MO Lead Occupational Therapist Evaluation and treatment of primarily geriatric population in multiple long-term care facilities, including supervision of COTAs and restorative aides.
