1 The Microsoft School Agreement is an annual subscription programme (i.e. rental) for Schools and Local Authority customers. It enables the customer to run a number of Microsoft applications for an annual fee based on the total number of eligible PCs in the institution. Customers have the option to sign a one or three year agreement. School Agreement Eligibility School Agreement requires an institution-wide commitment for any application, system, and Client Access License (CAL) products selected. (Only server products are licensed on an individual ad hoc basis.) To that end, you must include all of the eligible PCs in the participating school(s) or authority. Eligible PCs include all of the Pentium II, imac G3, or equivalent or better machines*. You must also include any additional machines within your institution on which any of the software will be run. *Includes machines with similar processors, such as Intel Celeron and AMD Athlon. 100% of all Pentium ii, imac G3, equivalent or better machines # of other machines using the software + = Total Eligible PCs How to participate in School Agreement Count up the number of eligible machines in your institution. Pricing is then calculated as: Eligible PC count x annual fee per product(s) = School Agreement fee per annum Server count x annual fee per product(s) = School Agreement fee per annum For Desktop products it s all or nothing i.e. say you have 500 PCs, you can t take 500 x Desktop School and 100 x Project Pro has to be 500 of all the desktop products you wish to licence. Student Use Students can use the software on any machines, owned or leased by the institution that reside on any of the institution s premises. Students are not permitted to have copies of School Agreement software on personal machines off site (i.e. Home) unless the institution has taken up the Student option. To take up the Student Option, customer can choose to licence a particular Year rather than the whole student population, as long as they meet the 100 minimum units. This could be made up as follows: 50 Students x Office Professional (1 unit) = 50 units 50 Students x Windows Professional Upgrade (1 unit) = 50 units Total = 100 units As you can see you don t have to licence a minimum of 100 Students, just choose your product set to make up the 100 units.
