1 Manitoba Film Loan Guarantee Program LOAN GUARANTEE APPLICATION Manitoba Film Loan Guarantee Program The Manitoba Film Loan Guarantee Program is designed to encourage continued growth of the film industry, which will result in job creation and indirect economic benefits within the Province. Assistance is provided for the financing of film projects including feature films, television programs and series. To qualify for the loan guarantee, a film project which must meet the following qualifying requirements: The project must be eligible for the Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit Program. Sources of project financing must total an amount equal to the production budget without a gap position. All interim financing must be arranged with a bank or credit union. A project will not be eligible if there is interim financing provided by a private lender to cover a gap position in financing structure. How to Apply Project financing is arranged through a bank or credit union. When a loan has been conditionally approved by the financial institution, a loan guarantee application may be submitted for consideration. The Province will provide a guarantee to a maximum of 20 percent of the loan amount. Approach a financial institution with a project plan and apply for financing. Receive a letter of offer from the financial institution stating the amount of loan guarantee to be applied for. Complete, sign and date the Manitoba Film Loan Guarantee Application Form. Include with your application the following mandatory documentation: Project synopsis Detailed and dated production budget Cashflow schedule Copy of the Part A Registration Certificate from the Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit Program A copy of an Opinion Letter on film tax credit estimates if one is required by the lender Copies of commitment letters from all financing sources Evidence of completion bond insurance if a completion bond is required by the lender Forward application to: Manitoba ETT - Small Business Development Branch Graham Avenue Winnipeg MB R3C 0J7 For additional information contact the Branch at or toll free
