22 Suitable applications Outokumpu 316 plus fits these type of applications: General use, Cathode Plates, Heavy construction industry, Building façades, Piping, Water treatment, Pulp and paper industry, Heat exchangers, Tanks And it does not fit for usage in very high temperatures or very aggressive/corrosive environments. It fits pressure vessel applications, but need a PMA case by case. 8 July

28 Corrosion resistance - CPT Localized pitting resistance compared to various different austenitic or duplex grades. Typical critical pitting temperature values determined in 1 M NaCl (320-grit) according to ASTM G July

31 Weldability Low carbon content (<0,03 %) prevents the precipitation of Cr carbides avoiding intergranular corrosion in welds. Nitrogen improves weld metal corrosion resistance in general and strength at elevated temperatures. Solidification in F-A mode prevents hot cracking. Grade is not prone to intermetallic phase transformation. Modified (18 hours annealing) intergranular corrosion test EN ISO (Strauss-test) for base material: PASSED 8 July
