5 PETER KLEPEC, THE SHEPHERD-BOY Peter Klepec je živel sam z mamo. Ve krat so ga ostali pastirji zafrkavali in pretepali. A character created by France Bevk Peter Klepec lived only with his mother. They were very poor. He had one goat and he took care of it. He went to serve to their neighbours. He was a weak shepherd. Other shepherds made fun of him and beat him many times. One day he saw a sleeping girl. He didn't want her to be sunburnt. So he made shadow with branches for her. The girl was a fairy. She was very grateful and she gave him strength. He showed the shepherds how strong he became when they wanted to beat him again. But he rather used his power for cultivating the land around the house where he and his mother lived. Pinocchio is a wooden puppet with a nose that extends when he tells a lie, a hat of soft bread, dressed in a paper porridge. Despite being a puppet Pinocchio has in his hard head, a brain made of wood as a child. It is this that makes Pinocchio a special puppet. He thinks everything children with a child brain think. He thinks his father Geppetto does not love him so much, because he doesn t let him to do whatever he wants. He believes that there is a lot of time for studying, but to play all the hours are good. Lies are very important to him to escape punishment, the words of his bad companions are always beautiful and true, while, on the contrary, the words of teachers and parents are always ugly and false. In the end he turns into a true human good reasonable boy doesn t tell lies any more. from Istituto Magistrale "S. 8 HLAPI, the apprentice Šegrt Hlapi je bio malen i siromašan dje ak. Nije imao nikoga. Zato on uzima izme i odlazi u svijet da ih razgazi. Hlapi was a little apprentice and a poor boy. He had no one. He lived at a cobbler, with the master Mrkonja and his wife. Mrkonja was a very gloomy man who never laughed. He was constantly yelling at Hlapi, he always blamed Hlapi for everything. Once a wealthy man came by the cobbler Mrkonja who have ordered boots for his son and was not satisfied with the boots. Mrkonja blamed Hlapi again. So Hlapi takes the boots and goes into the world to trample his boots. On the strange way, through seven villages and seven kingdoms, Hlapi went through dangerous and beautiful adventures.
