1 Online CTE 26 Issues 1. The CTE-26 Applications for Family and Consumer Sciences and Career-Based Intervention (CBI) will not be available in the system until Feb Access for JVSDs, Community and STEM schools will be available Dec Access for JVSDs to input satellite school information will be available Feb Agricultural and Environmental Systems Career Field Please reference the FY16 Program Matrix while working on Agricultural and Environmental career field programs. There are several courses that have been renamed but still have the same subject code. With the delay in EMIS, the course name changes haven t been completed at this time. Below is a list of courses that will be deleted for each pathway in FY17: AO Pathway Agribusiness & Production Systems Plant Bioscience (Plant and Horticulture Science) Natural Resources Small Animal Care Equine Science & Mgt Animal Science & Technology Vetinary Science Wildlife & Fisheries A1 Pathway Industrial Power Technology A2 Pathway Animal Science and Management A3 Pathway Agriculture, Food, Plant and Animal Science Natural Resources Bioscience A5 Pathway - Horticulture

Family Consumer Science Courses Hours will be changed to for the following courses for the FY17. Global Foods Food Science Culinary Fundamentals Principles of Nutrition and Wellness Personal Wellness Human Growth and Development Child Development Leadership and Community Engagement Consumer Economics Personal Financial Management Career and College Readiness Interior Design, Furnishing and Management Textile Design, Construction and Maintenance 6. Courses Available to all Pathways Due to IT designs, these two courses are not showing up in the drop down menus for CTE Courses. However this will not affect your ability to select this courses in EMIS reporting. Career Connections VM/30-60 Pre-Apprenticeship VT/ ;VP/ ; V3/120
3 Schools that want to offer the Career Connections course in middle school need to choose a pathway, then choose the first course in the pathway to be approved via the CTE-26. Since the application provides approval for any course in the pathway, the school district will have no issues next year inputting the career connections course in EMIS. In the comment box, the school can note they plan to report the career connections course. Schools that want to start a new program that includes a pre-apprenticeship course, can complete the CTE-26 application for the new program and select the capstone course for the specific pathway. In the comment box, the school can note they plan to report the pre-apprenticeship course in EMIS. Schools that want to add a pre-apprenticeship course to an existing program with an existing CTE-26 on file, can do so without submitting a new CTE-26 application until the existing program is scheduled for renewal. 7. Old Pathway Codes Old pathway codes are still displaying in the IT system. Applications submitted under the district instead of the appropriate building IRN There are a number of applications that were entered under the district IRN and not a specific building IRN. When Tech Prep, districts or CTPDs review applications that are not tied to the appropriate building IRN, the applications should be sent back as corrections needed. The system, however, will not allow the district to correct the application. Districts will have to start a NEW application and assign it to the appropriate building IRN. The old application will fall out of the system on its own. Screen shots with examples are circled in red below. In most cases, the applications will be labeled with the name of the district then local or city after the name. Applications that are correctly tied to the building will have the name of the building listed with it high school middle school or career center after the name. IRN numbers can be cross-checked in OEDS: For those applications already approved by Tech Prep, the district or the CTPD, ODE will work with districts to clean these up before final approval.
5 9. STEM Schools Some STEM schools are not tied to a CTPD in OEDs. If a STEM school does not have access in the system, please submit the name and IRN to ODE to get them assigned. 10. Completing CTE-26 Applications as a CTE Compact Model From the Ohio Department of Education s perspective, the owner of the program is the district that receives the funding. Local agreements between schools actually create the CTPD/compact. Therefore, the district where the program is housed and receiving funding is responsible for submitting the CTE 26. However, the school district can give the CTE director of the compact a role in their district through OEDS allowing the CTE director the ability to create the CTE 26 application for the district in which the program is housed. It will be important as the CTE director to make sure you select the correct status in your SAFE account based on the district you will be completing the proper CTE 26. Your SAFE account will allow you to take on this status for any district that assigns you as the CTE director in OEDS.
