Essential Functions 1. Work in conjunction with the campus directors to manage instruction, maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of TulsaTech, including: direct job assignment, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Assist with the appraisal of performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion and termination actions, and hiring as appropriate. 2. Provide instructional leadership and support of career majors assuring that the highest quality of classroom instruction is maintained with smooth operation of dayto-day instruction so professional development opportunities are maximized and individual instructor performance is elevated. 3. Recommend instructional professional development activities and training needs. 4. Direct all Full Time day and evening course deliveries as well as recommend and implement new career majors and course offerings. 5. Participate in the coordination and content preparation of class schedules, course catalogues, and web-based information. Provide direction to all career clusters and majors in the specific areas of development, review, program evaluations, accreditation and marketing. 6. In collaboration with instructional staff and Instructional Services Department Consultants, make recommendations regarding the acquisition, development, implementation, and utilization of resources to facilitate on-line instruction and/or alternative instructional delivery methods. 7. Support the implementation of course articulation agreements with secondary schools and institutions of higher education. 8. Support the implementation of the Tech Centers That Work Instructional Improvement Plan.
2 9. Examine, evaluate, and make recommendations for technological innovations in instruction and support. 10. Collaborate with the District s Business and Industry Services division and program Advisory Committees to assure currency and accuracy of existing career majors to effect early identification of new career majors in support of local business requirements and maintain relationships which promote placement of students. 11. Assist with interviewing processes and skills to identify and hire full-time instructional staff (working jointly with campus directors) who possess the requisite experience, competencies and cultural match to maintain the highest levels of customer service and instructional excellence and ability to achieve the strategic and tactical objectives of the campus and district. 12. Monitor student achievement indicators and career major performance measures and implement appropriate intervention measures to effect maximum student retention and program completion. 13. Attend various staff and committee meetings as well as district, state and industry meetings to assure alignment of career majors and activities with District objectives and CareerTech initiatives and keep staff informed regarding pertinent District changes, information and direction. 14. Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite. 15. Customarily and regularly manage direct reports assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion and termination actions, and hiring as appropriate. Non-essential Functions 1. Must have knowledge of the education system and programs. Experience Required This position requires three (3) years experience working as a career tech administrator. Education, Certifications and Specialized Training Master Degree Required Must have or be able to obtain ODCTE Administrator Certificate Certification as Secondary Principal Required Physical Demands & Working Conditions Must be able to perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office environment with minimal noise, performing primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and routine lifting of up to 15 lbs. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, calculator, etc. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 2 5 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of local travel (as driver) and occasional overnight and extended travel, domestically, by commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and lodging in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Mental & Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions without supervision and direct the activities of others. Must be able to carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities at various levels within and outside the organization.
