2 At Stella Color we believe in providing a resource to our clients by persuing continual improvement of sustainable media options and best practices in lifecycle control. This resource guide will assist you with an overview of all the efforts that Stella Color is providing around sustainable best practices. Recycled Media or High PCC Content Media The medias listed below offer the ability to be recycled in known recycling output streams nationally. To qualify as a recyclable media at Stella Color, we will supply you with an appropriate recycling address as well as a description of the media s secondlife reuse. We believe at least 45% of media content needs to be from Post Consumer Recycled Content. We at Stella Color believe that reducing PVC use is moving the sustainable cause in a positive direction. Eco Structaboard Eco Styrene Eco Vinyl Eco Wallpaper Enviroboard Tyvek Vivia Alternative Energy Products manufactured using alternative energy: while the organic compounds do not reflect a significant sustainable substitution in some materials, we believe that through utilizing alternative energy of at least 50% can qualify these products as sustainable alternatives. Bio-Degradable Products considered biodegradable in most landfill environments: although most modern landfills do not involve organic soil, we believe these products are moving the sustainable cause forward.

3 Lifecycle Control Programs HP Media Take-Back Program The HP Planet Partners Program provides a simple way to return large format media for recycling within a state-of -the-art, low impact recycling system. Dupont Tyvek Vivia Partnership Recycling Program The Tyvek recycling program is the first time that recycled tonnage will be reported through a simple barcode measurement system, further closing the loop on material lifecycle for tradeshows, events and retail campaigns. Ship-back programs such as this can be tailored to fit a wide range of customer requirements, ranging from a single bag holding 300 square feet at $15.00 including shipping, to more elaborate campaigns. our passion. We will avoid partners that cannot supply the minimum required information to evaluate the point of origin on all materials required to produce your job. SGP & Stella Color Stella Color has been certified by the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership via an independent third party assessment and verification on our sustainable best practices. The creation of the SGP is the first time that core graphic industry disciplines have formed an independent, nonprofit, third-party auditing entity to validate best practices on sustainable facility management and business planning. Supply Chain Management At Stella Color we include all our vendor partners in our efforts to reduce carbon consumption. We take advantage of local media supplier options, reducing carbon emissions by minimizing the transportation distance to our manufacturing floor. We annually invite our partners to share more about their best practices and products they consider to be sustainable. This is an ongoing process to forge better relationships with partners who understand

4 Act II Act II is a durable, tightly woven fabric with a canvas-like texture. It s scoured and heat set for dye sublimation printing but may also be used with direct, UV cure digital printing, making it durable enough for up to 6 months of outdoor use. Act II is composed of 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. The fiber source is recycled plastic drinking bottles. Unlike other recycled polyester fabrics, Act II is made from 100% post-consumer content so its use has a real, positive impact on the waste stream and our environment. 5 Blox-Lite Blox-Lite is a heavyweight, coated paper banner material that is printable on both sides. It has a smooth, bright white finish and is 100% opaque, moisture resistant, and easily sewn and grommeted. Blox-Lite is Forest Stewardship Council Certified and perfect for use as an environmentally sustainable block-out banner or an alternative to non-recyclable vinyl for hanging signage. 6 Eco-Banner Eco-Banner is an eco-sensitive, light weight, flexible printing material that has been specifically designed for the digital print world. Eco-Banner is lighter in gross weight than petroleum based vinyl or billboards, and is completely recyclable. This material is a seamless lightweight paper replacement that can take thousands of hours of UV exposure but will retain its printed color brilliance and high level tensile strength. Eco-Banner can be used for portable convention display graphics, tradeshow exhibit display graphics, retail wall displays, corporate banners, outdoor banners and many other signage applications. Eco-Banner material is one of the premium examples of sustainable green products used by Stella Color to promote eco-friendly print practices. 7 Eco-Board Eco-Board is produced using 100% recovered fiber, thereby making it a 100% recycled paperboard. It contains a minimum of 50% postconsumer waste. These qualities make Eco-Board a popular eco-sensitive, sustainable green material. Eco-Board is a product of recycled secondary fiber material and is renewable. The nature of the process that develops this reliable material begins with utilizing high amounts of post-consumer recycled fiber, making this process more energy efficient and less reliant on processes that contribute to water pollution. Basically an indoor use material, this board maintains a smooth finished surface, and is flexible enough for use in multiple print applications. 8 Eco-Canvas Eco-Canvas is a durable, high performance eco-sensitive synthetic polymer material that is also recyclable. In fact, polyester recycling is so common, and so widely perceived as environmentally sound, most fabric manufacturers typically carry a recycled polyester product. Eco-Canvas is developed from non-polluting, biodegradable, non-toxic, natural materials. This material is color safe and flame retardant, and is one of the best examples of sustainable green products that Stella Color uses. Free of petrochemical ingredients, no PVC or harsh chemicals are used in the development of this versatile finished print product. Eco-Canvas can be used for most indoor banner and hanging display purposes. It can be used for art reproduction murals, corporate banners, convention graphics, portable tradeshow display graphics, retail wall displays, and much more. 9 Eco-Cell Eco-Cell is a durable, flexible, lightweight recycled PVC board made of 70% recycled material. Available in several thicknesses and colors, Eco-Cell is ideal for a host of uses including packaging, P.O.P., display markets, interior/exterior signage, exhibition and trade shows, interior prefab (caravans, aircraft, auto), lightweight constructions, and much more. Eco-Cell has good sound and heat insulating properties, and can even be thermoformed into shapes, welded, or bonded. It can be nailed, diecut, or sawed with properties similar to that of wood. 10 Eco-Corroboard Eco-Corroboard is a sustainable green material used by Stella Color which is the perfect answer to environmentally safe corrugated material. Eco-Corroboard is manufactured using more than 80% post-consumer waste fiber board, making this material a highly sustainable green print product. It has a smooth, bright white finish that holds color brilliance and print detail to an exceptional level. Eco-Corroboard can be used for cardboard sales displays, portable tradeshow booth graphics, easel displays, carton and box material, and much more. This board is Forest Stewardship Council Certified as an environmentally safe material and is perfect for lightweight indoor signage. 11 Digitex Digitex is a 7oz. polyester canvas fabric completely free of PVC content. It has a semi-gloss top coating as well as a high tensil strength and tear resistance making it suitable for stretcher frame uses. Digitex is fire rated and NFPA 701 flame tested. By choosing PVC free materials, you help reduce the toxic manufacturing and life-cycle of polyvinyl chloride plastic. 12 Eco-Foamcore The Eco-Foamcore that Stella Color uses has a smooth, bright white facing which is perfect for high detail printing. This board is sturdy, highly warp resistant and maintains its surface and thickness integrity during laminating, printing, die-cutting or mounting. This eco friendly green substrate is manufactured using bio-resins that are essential to a quick and safe degradation of the polystyrene foam center. These bio resins cause the material to break down into harmless biomass compost once it is disposed of in landfill conditions. Eco-Foamcore is just one of the sustainable green substrates and materials that Stella Color uses to insure your portable exhibit and trade show graphics, portable pop up display graphics and convention display graphics are as eco-friendly as possible. 13 GreenCore GreenCore is a Forest Stewardship Council Certified premium tempered hardboard with ultra-smooth surfaces featuring a specially formulated white coating on both sides. The combination of the substrate s strength, smooth surface, and receptive coating provide an ideal substrate for UV flatbed printing and two-sided rigid graphics. GreenCore is strong enough for header boards, gondolas, aisle violators, POP displays, component parts, sample boards, high impact use, tradeshow booths, and a host of other applications. It can be easily sawed, routed, drilled and fabricated. bi GreenCore is sourced and manufactured from local/regional hardwoods in Michigan State. It is manufactured using only heat and extreme pressure with no other binding agents, and is CARB Compliant and Exempt (no formaldehyde emissions). 14 Falconboard Falconboard is a 100% paper-based graphic board made from renewable resources (a minimum of 20% recycled fiber content). It is recyclable, and has met fiber-sourcing certification standards set by the independent Sustainable Forestry Initiative. Falconboard is also available in a fire resistant version which has passed the National Fire Protection Agency s 701 flame propagation test as well as the ASTM-E84 surface burning protocol. Falconboard s proprietary, patent-pending process features an engineered paper core and water-based adhesives. Produced chlorofluorocarbon-free, it emits zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during manufacturing. Falconboard has a smooth, clean white surface and is particularly well suited for direct-to-substrate UV printing, and an excellent alternative to foam-based boards and traditional wood materials. Falconboard s unique structure can handle the most demanding graphic display applications due to its rigidity and dimensional stability. It offers superior strength over traditional corrugated and foam board substrates and works with most commercial connective systems such as edge tape, plastic or metal edging, and channels. 15 InCycle InCycle has a bright white, highly printable surface while also being lightweight and weather-durable. It is a highly versatile media ideal for large signs, wall hangings, printed panels, backlit signage, and numerous other applications. InCycle offers many sustainability benefits over current conventional substrates; it is completely recyclable, made from 50% recycled content, uses 80% less density than solid plastics (thereby reducing the amount of source material needed in the first place). InCycle can even be brought back to Stella Color for closed-loop recycling (the material is returned directly to the manufacturer for re-use). Billions of square feet of signage are thrown away each year. 16 Eco-Knit Eco-Knit fabric is an environmentally friendly textile developed from recycled polyester and elastic fiber material. Each yard of Eco-Knit fabric conserves over 60,000 BTU s of energy. Recycled polyester is made from post-industrial waste and post-consumer plastic bottles. Because of the elemental make-up of these recycled materials, our Eco-Knit will have a flat white local color, which has a more natural appearance, and is much easier on the eye. Eco-Knit can be used for portable exhibit and trade show graphics, portable pop up display graphics, convention graphics, and many other knit textile applications. 17 Eco-Structaboard Eco-Structaboard is an eco-sensitive composite of light-weight white woodfiber veneer facers that has an extruded black polystyrene foam core. The black foam core has a minimum of 25 percent recycled polystyrene. Because of it's lightweight but durable structure, Eco-Structaboard is a perfect eco-friendly and sustainable green matrial for trade show displays, indoor signage, project framing, virtually any indoor display needs. Eco-Structaboard is perfect for convention display graphics, portable exhibit graphic displays, tradeshow display graphics, retail wall displays, easel displays, posters, convention signage and much more. 18 Eco-Styrene Eco-Styrene is an economical rigid substrate available in sheets and rolls up to widths of 60". It is available in black, white, and translucent. Eco-Styrene is manufactured using eco-sensitive, biodegradable materials. Eco-Styrene comes in a satin finish that is highly ink receptive, while still allowing for surface flexibility. It can be die-cut or hole punched cleanly. Eco-Styrene can be used for portable trade show graphics, exhibit displays, easel displays, convention display graphics, menu signs and much more. Superior ink receptivity using flexo, offset and screen processes. Excellent for display and P.O.P. applications. Can be guillotine cut, die cut, punched. Excellent dimensional stability. 19 Eco-Vinyl The Eco-Vinyl we print on is a white, flexible bio-degradable PVC material that is tear and fade resistant. It can be used for both indoor and outdoor signage and banners, and it will withstand all types of weather conditions. For example, it can be utilized for a front-lit digitally printed sign or banner. These qualities make Eco-Vinyl one of the best sustainable green print products that Stella Color uses. Eco-Vinyl has a bright white fine toothed surface that will readily take both solvent or UV inks. The surface is flame resistant, light weight and is biodegradable. Eco-Vinyl has many applications. You can use it for outdoor banners, portable trade show booth graphics, outdoor banner display stands, pop up display graphics, convention graphics and much more. 20 Eco-Wallpaper Eco-Wallpaper is a perfect solution for the digital interior designer, graphic designer, architect, print producer or display manufacturer. Enviroboard is made from a blend of 10% Post Consumer Recycled Content and 90% FSC Certified Fiber to achieve its sustainable fiber balance, and fabricated into a dimensionally stable and rigid composite board featuring a re-pulpable yet durable water-based adhesive system. Just as with traditional Tyvek, Tyvek Vivia can also be recycled at centers that recycle flexible high density polyethylene products a meaningful advantage for today s environmentally sensitive customers. 23 HP Eco Solutions program HP LARGE FORMAT BANNER/MEDIA FREE RECYCLING Don t throw out your old media send it back to us and we ll take care of the rest. HP s Planet Partners program now provides you with the ability to return large format banners and flags after use. There are no costs to use this recycling program. Our state-of-the-art processes ensure that the plastics and fibers used in these banners and flags are recycled in a way that conserves resources and reduces environmental impact. To determine whether you are eligible, and to participate, review the information below. Eligibility This free recycling service is open to customers in the United States. It allows you to return and recycle any of the following non-pvc, HP Large Format Media products: HP HDPE Reinforced Banner HP DuPont Tyvek Banner HP Heavy Textile Banner HP Wrinkle-free Flag with liner* Unprinted scrap material generated during the printing process is also eligible. HP Planet Partners Over 15 years ago, HP s Planet Partners recycling program was created to make it easy to recycle HP print cartridges, printers and other technology products responsibly. With operations in over 50 countries, HP has, to date, recycled 1 billion cumulative pounds of electronics and HP print cartridges, with a goal of doubling our annual recovery rate to reach 2 billion pounds by For more information, go to Get started 1. Pack materials according to instructions below. All grommets, hooks, hanging hardware, tape, etc. must be removed from the banner material prior to shipment for recycling. Liners from HP Wrinkle-free Flag media must also be removed prior to shipment for recycling. Banner material can be packed in any cardboard box strong enough to hold the weight being shipped. A shipping box must be reasonably sized for transportation via United Parcel Service (UPS). The maximum size for a box is 24 x 24 x 24. The maximum shippable weight of a single box is 75 pounds. If you have more than 75 pounds of material then it must be split into separate boxes and the shipping label request process will have to be repeated (you cannot use the same shipping label twice). If you have an extremely large amount of banner material to recycle, please contact customer support at recycling.services-prs@hp.com for assistance. Additional packing materials (e.g. bubble wrap, packing peanuts, newspaper, etc.) must not be included. The box should only contain banner materials. Tape all seams with packing tape to ensure package can be transported without breaking or opening. Weigh the box and have weight ready to provide at the next step of the process. Box weight is required to create a shipping label. 2. Go to to create a shipping label. The process is simple. Provide contact and package information. Print shipping label. Affix label to package and give to UPS. 3. At the end of this process you will be provided a pre-paid UPS shipping label. Ship materials according to instructions below. With packaging tape, securely affix the shipping label to your box. Ensure that tape does not cover any information on the label. Hand your completed package to any UPS driver, or drop it off at an authorized UPS location.
