2 ABOUT SEANUTS South East Asian Nutrition Surveys (SEANUTS) is multi-center study that was simultaneously carried out among 16,744 children aged 6 months to 12 years in four countries Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The study was commissioned and sponsored by FrieslandCampina. The study aimed to comprehensively examine the children s nutritional status, dietary intake and habits, physical activity, blood biochemistry, as well as assessing bone health and cognitive function, providing relevant insights for gaps in information. SEANUTS was conducted in collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), in Indonesia with PERSAGI (Persautuan Ahli Gizi Indonesia), in Thailand with Mahidol University (MAHIDOL) and in Vietnam with the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) Vien Dinh Duong. SEANUTS provides robust and comprehensive data on the nutritional and health situation of children in South East Asia. Results from SEANUTS can be used by local governments and policy makers to make informed decisions and develop programs towards addressing the health of nation young potential.
