1 ADE Data Center Tools and Support for Educators Introduction The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Division of Research and Technology is pleased to announce the release of an updated ADE Data Center homepage along with four (4) new responsive web design (RWD) Directory Applications as listed below: 1. ADE Employees Directory 2. School Locator 3. School Personnel Directory 4. NCES ID Directory Responsive web design (RWD) is an approach to web design aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing and interaction experience easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones & tablets). ADE Data Center is available via the URL The new homepage and the 4 directory applications along with being mobile and tablet compatible allows users to search by keyword and key titles. Index search by alphabets and numbers have been added as well whenever applicable. P a g e 1 8

2 The new homepage is geared to serve the Public, Educators, District Administrators & School Leaders and ADE Staff by providing three (3) segmented Applications & Data Portals for easy access and log-on. Log-on legend for ADE active directory, APSCN active directory and, Triand have been added specific to each application for the end-users. P a g e 2 8

3 Additional tabs have been introduced with this release in the form of App Stats and Arkansas K-12 Profile. App Stats: Provides an overview of Education Information System Statistics Arkansas K-12 Profile: Provides a high-level profile for K-12 on LEA s, Students and Personnel. P a g e 3 8

4 Overview of ADE Data Center Directory Apps ADE Employees Directory (AED): The ADE Employee Directory is a one-stop location for ADE Employees directory information. It displays employees Job Title, , Telephone, Division, Unit and Address information. It is referred to as ADE Staff Directory in its earlier version. School Locator (LEA): The School Locator displays Local Education Agency s (LEA) information (LEA Number and LEA Name) along with address information for all LEA s across the state and has four major segments namely, Co-operatives; Districts; Schools and Counties. It was referred to as School District Information / LEA Management System in its earlier version. School Personnel Directory (SPD): The School Personnel Directory is a one stop guide for all levels (Co-op; District and School) of LEA contact person s (coordinator s) information for the current school year. It is referred to as district s Contact Person Address Book in its earlier version. NCES ID Directory (NID): The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) ID Directory is a one-stop location for retrieving the NCES Identity numbers for the Arkansas Co-operatives, District and School LEA s issued by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences (IES). It is referred to as NCES in its earlier version. Background ADE Data Center was first launched in the year 2009 as the department s data portal displaying static aggregate report links via the Statewide Information System Reports. In 2011, the website was expanded beyond Statewide Information System Reports to cater other data portals like Triand and ACT Reports in form of a blogstyle website. The next major iteration was in in 2012 followed by 2014 where in icon style display and launch pads were introduced for housing several data portal and applications like Statewide Information, School Performance Report Card, studentgps Dashboards, Student Intervention System and others hosted by the ADE. The 2016 ADE Data Center launch is the Version 5.0. release. P a g e 4 8

5 ADE Employees Directory, AED The ADE Employee Directory is a one-stop location for ADE Employees directory information. It displays employees Job Title, , Telephone, Division, Unit and Address information. It is referred to as ADE Staff Directory in its earlier version. The application includes the following four (4) sections: Home Page: Allows to view employee details by Division and Unit Organizational Chart: Shows the department s organization chart & reporting hierarchy Summary: Provides the count of employees by Division and Unit Search Employee: Allows to search employee by Name or Phone P a g e 5 8

6 School Locator The School Locator displays Local Educational Agency s (LEA) information (LEA Number and LEA Name) along with address information for all LEA s across the state and has four major segments namely, Co-operatives; Districts; Schools and Counties. It was referred to as School District Information / LEA Management System in its earlier version. The application includes the following six (6) sections: All: Shows the listing of Co-ops, Districts, School LEA s & their addresses Co-ops: Shows the listing of Co-ops and their addresses Districts: Shows the listing of Districts and their addresses Schools: Shows the listing of Schools and their addresses Counties: Shows the list of County Name and Code Summary: Provides a summary count of LEA by Co-ops, Districts & Schools P a g e 6 8

7 School Personnel Directory, SPD The School Personnel Directory is a one stop guide for all levels (Co-op; District and School) of LEA contact person s (coordinator s) information and address (mailing & shipping) information for the current school year. It is referred to as district s Contact Person Address Book in its earlier version. It is referred to as NCES in its earlier version.
