Introduction Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited ( HKEx ) will upgrade the existing Securities and Derivatives Network (SDNet/1) for the derivatives market to SDNet/2 in the first quarter of In order to verify Clearing Participants ( CPs ) readiness for the upgrade, a Connectivity Test ( CT ) will be conducted on 26 January 2013 (Saturday). The CT is mandatory for all CPs. This Information Package is designed to assist CPs in planning and preparing for the CT. CPs should read this Information Package carefully and make all necessary preparation before participating in the CT. A copy of this document should also be passed to their IT support or system vendor to ensure the availability of proper technical support before and during the CT. 2. Objective and Scope 2.1 Objective The objective of the CT is to ensure that all SDNet/2 installed by the Accredited Vendors in CPs offices can function properly before the Market Rehearsal. 2.2 Scope The CT consists of Parts A and B, CPs are required to complete both parts: Part A Under SDNet/2 environment, DCASS online is available for CPs to: Perform post-trade activities, such as trade rectification, give-up / take-up, cross product netting, position transfer and position closing; and Perform various DCASS online enquiry functions (such as enquiry via Trade History Window, Holding Give-up Window and Account Position Window) Part B Under SDNet/1 environment, DCASS online is available for CPs to: Perform post-trade activities, such as trade rectification, give-up / take-up, cross product netting, position transfer and position closing; and Perform various DCASS online enquiry functions (such as enquiry via Trade History Window, Holding Give-up Window and Account Position Window) (Note: CCMS online will NOT be available during the CT) - 2 -

Important Notes to CPs 3.1 Technical setup for the CT CPs should note the following technical arrangements: (a) Before the CT, by day end of 25 January 2013 (Friday) To facilitate the preparation, CPs must ensure The DCASS Server is powered ON All windows accounts at DCASS Server are logged out The dcassadmin account on DCASS Server is active At least 4GB free disk space is available in C drive (b) After the CT, on 26 January 2013 (after 1:30 p.m.) CPs will be notified by when their DCASS Servers are ready for verification. CPs should perform connectivity verification as follows: Logon the DCASS Client Terminal. A message The NASDAQ SECUR BO server is not connected to OMnet will be displayed. This is normal system behavior when CPs logon DCASS on a non-business Day. CPs should click OK to proceed to logon Verify the availability of production reports / files Verify the Friday s trade history against their own production records Both the DCASS Servers and the Network Gateways (NGs) should remain switched on after the CT for HKEx to resume the production setup 3.2 Preparation and execution of the CT CPs should note the following arrangements for the preparation and execution of the CT: a) CPs are required to logon their DCASS Client Terminals and OAPI programs, where applicable, at 9:15 a.m. promptly to start the CT. b) CPs should use their DCASS Client Terminals via NGs to access DCASS during the CT. c) CPs staff should have experience in performing post-trade activities via DCASS, and should use the production user ID and password, as of 2 January 2013 (start of day) to access DCASS during the CT. Besides, CPs should ensure their participating staff members have appropriate user access functions at DCASS to perform post-trade activities during the CT. CPs DCASS Administrators are not encouraged to change the users function access during the CT because it will take time to take effect. d) CPs should ensure that they have access to the s of the designated contact persons for the CT in order to receive emergency messages from HKEx during the CT. e) CPs should refer to the Checklist in Appendix A for the action items to be performed before, during and after the CT. In order to achieve the testing objectives, CPs should ensure their participating staff members are familiarize with the requirements and procedures prior to the CT

5 Connectivity Test for Upgrade of Securities and Derivatives Market Network (SDNet/2) Information Package for Clearing Participants f) In case of technical trouble-shooting, CPs should have their system administrator ID(s) and password(s) of their internal systems ready throughout the CT. g) In addition, CPs are recommended to maintain a proper audit trail in respect of each transaction input during the CT in accordance with the policy currently adopted by the CPs. The Responsible Officer or his/her designate of each participating CPs should be present during the CT to supervise the testing process and to be responsible for relaying any issues arising during the CT to HKEx. CPs should perform post-trade activities via DCASS Client Terminal and OAPI programs, where applicable, during the CT with the data set up and execution as set forth in Appendix B. h) CPs are required to complete and return the SDNet Upgrade Connectivity Test Confirmation Form as set forth in Appendix C to HKEx at or before 12:00 noon on 26 January 2013 (Saturday). 4. Schedule and Arrangement 4.1 Overview During the CT, trades executed via HKATS will be transmitted to and captured by DCASS. These trades will be available for CPs to perform post-trade activities

Execution Date: 26 January 2013 (Saturday) System Date: 26 January 2013 TIME ACTIVITIES REMARKS Part A of the CT (All CPs will be using SDNet/2) 9:15 a.m. DCASS online is ready for CPs logon 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Before 10:35 a.m. CPs can perform post-trade activities CPs logout from DCASS Break Please refer to Appendix B for the execution requirements Logout from DCASS is a prerequisite for network switching 10:35 am. to 11:30 a.m. Accredited Vendors will switch all networks from SDNet/2 back to SDNet/1 Part B of the CT (All CPs will be using SDNet/1 ) 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon Before 12:05 p.m. DCASS online is ready, CPs re-logon DCASS: to perform post-trade activities to enquire post-trade activities performed in Part A CPs send the Confirmation Form via fax or to HKEx at or before 12:00 noon CPs logout from DCASS End of CT Please refer to Appendix B for the execution requirements Please refer to Appendix C for the Confirmation Form Clean all testing data in DCASS OAPI programs Reset DCASS OAPI login password, where necessary, for coming business day on 28 January 2013 Post CT Health Check After 1:30 p.m. DCASS online is ready for CPs to perform connectivity verification to production network via DCASS Client Terminals and DCASS OAPI programs, where applicable HKEx re-connects DCASS to production network Note: HKEx will notify CPs the time to perform the connectivity verification individually - 5 -

7 Connectivity Test for Upgrade of Securities and Derivatives Market Network (SDNet/2) Information Package for Clearing Participants 4.3 User ID and Login Password CPs should use their DCASS production user IDs and passwords, as of 2 January 2013 (start of day) for logon to DCASS via DCASS Client Terminals and DCASS OAPI programs, where applicable, during the CT. 4.4 Test Environment When CPs logon DCASS, they will be simulating production operation as if 26 January 2013 is a normal business day. HKEx will prepare a clean environment for DCASS. Trades executed by CPs traders will be used to perform post-trade activities. 4.5 Transactions to be Executed CPs should perform post-trade activities via DCASS Client Terminals and DCASS OAPI programs, where applicable, during the CT. CPs should refer to the Data Setup & Execution Requirements as set forth in Appendix B for details. 4.6 Post-Test Arrangement CPs are reminded NOT TO TURN OFF their DCASS Servers and the NGs after the CT. CPs with DCASS OAPI programs are reminded to do clean-up and make sure that their DCASS OAPI programs used in the CT has been resumed to production image and ready for normal business activities on the next business day (28 January 2013, Monday). 4.7 Test Confirmation All participated CPs are required to complete and return the SDNet Upgrade Connectivity Test Confirmation Form as set forth in Appendix C to HKEx via fax or at or before 12:00 noon on 26 January 2013 (Saturday). 5. Communication Channels Under normal situation, HKEx will communicate with the designated contact persons of the CPs during the CT via and/or phone calls. In the event of cancellation or postponement of the CT if contingency happened before the CT starts (i.e. 07:00 on 26 January 2013) due to unexpected reasons, HKEx will inform CPs of the ad-hoc arrangements via and/or phone calls. CPs should ensure that their designated contact persons for the CT are reachable during the prescribed time and the relevant and mobile phone number submitted to HKEx must be accurate. 6. 8 APPENDIX A: Checklist for SDNet Upgrade Connectivity Test (A) Before the CT ITEMS TO BE CHECKED 1 Have you read and understood this document ( Connectivity Test for Upgrade of Securities and Derivatives Market Network (SDNet/2) to be held on 26 January 2013 )? 2 Have you (if necessary) passed this document to your internal IT support team or system vendor and ensured that they would make follow-up action? 3 Have you ensured that the participating users have appropriate user function access to perform the required activities in DCASS and/or your internal systems during the CT? 4 For connecting your DCASS OAPI programs in the CT, have you ensured that proper procedures are in place to switch to testing environment without affecting the existing production DCASS OAPI programs, and that restore procedures are in place? 5 Have you established appropriate procedures to restore your production version of internal system / OAPI upon completion of the CT and verification control to ensure system readiness for normal business operations on the following Business Day, i.e. 28 January 2013 (Monday)? 6 Have you communicated with your trading department to input trades for your testing during the CT? 7 Have you arranged IT and/ or system vendor support with appropriate system administration ID during the CT in case there is any technical problem? (B) On 26 January 2013, before executing test cases and during the CT 1 Have your designated contact persons of the test already logged in their accounts to obtain announcement during the CT? 2 Have you performed all required post-trade activities? (C) After the CT 1 Have you cleaned up all testing data in your DCASS OAPI programs? 2 Have you reset your DCASS OAPI login password for normal business activities on the coming Monday, i.e. 28 January 2013? 3 Have you submitted the SDNet Upgrade Connectivity Test Confirmation Form (Appendix C) before 12:00 noon on 26 January 2013 (Saturday)? - 7 -

9 APPENDIX B: Connectivity Test - Data Setup & Execution Requirements (1) Post-trade Transactions in DCASS The following dummy Participant will act as the counterparty of the post-trade transactions executed by Clearing Participants.
