But the Department of Defense, the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS), and the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) are already providing a full range of information about the military members with further improvements on the horizon! Hear first-hand what resources are already available through automated sources and what other means are available to you. 27 FCR/DEERS Match FCR (CP/NCP/child) matched to DEERS No family member can have Family Violence Indicator (FVI) No longer send National Medical Support Notice (NMSN) (PIQ-06-02, dated March 29, 2006) Military medical coverage (TRICARE) is entitlement, not insurance 26

28 The match tells you: FCR/DEERS Match Children covered by a parent in the military or other sponsor Children eligible for coverage because their parent is in the military Children previously covered If other sponsor shows child, foster child, pre-adoptive child or ward, name and SSN of sponsor provided 27

29 Caseworker Actions Update the case record to reflect medical coverage Refer CP to RAPIDS center when child is eligible End date medical coverage as shown Encourage automation 28
