2 Title: Listening to Cultures
3 Target groups: Second language learners of Danish, Greek, Romanian, Italian foreign language learners of Spanish, French, English. Thematic area: ICT and authentic audiovisual materials in language learning
4 Aims: The overall aims of this partnership are: promoting multilingualism and multiculturalism developing ICT teaching and learning skills enhancing aural skills through audiovisual materials
5 The objectives are: Objectives: To come into close contact with the real everyday world of another European country; To learn about the arts, cinema, history, and social institutions of European countries; To listen to the dreams and fears of other Europeans; To get more familiar with the everyday language of other countries To develop listening comprehension skills in another European language; To develop critical skills while listening to the Media (radio, TV) To motivate learners of foreign languages; To exploit and develop existing audiovisual materials for language learning activities; To develop teachers e-learning skills to enhance their teaching methods.
6 Methodologies: Exchanging information among partners through online platform tools; Participative methods for adult learners; Online research methods; Cascade training; Open coordination method.
7 Outcomes and products: a Moodle platform in the website of every partner organization; a brochure with guidelines for using Moodle intended for learners and tutors, with links to Moodle tutorials, from a previous Grundtvig ( Adult education: e-learning Web2.0 Andragogy to enhance the education outcomes, Transnational cooperation ); a CD with learning materials (from radio, TV, movies, the Internet) with listening comprehension exercises, according to relevant language levels; a leaflet for dissemination of the project.
8 Activities: partners exchange experiences on how their students approach the Media extracts they present in the language lessons; partners choose materials from the radio, TV, the internet and movies that are in digital form on topics such as: politics, history, social institutions, fairytales, literature, songs, paintings, guided tours to cities or to museums, interviews; partners create and propose types of activities and exercises to enhance listening skills on those materials;
9 Activities: they adapt the types of exercises in every partner language and add them to the listening materials; partners create a Moodle (or other communication) platform on their own websites and add there links and exercises in their relevant target foreign language; partners evaluate through the same questionnaire their students listening skills after the use of these exercises as well as their cooperation and learning from each other.
