4 ANNUAL OACDL TRIAL SKILLS ACADEMY Saturday, March 8, 2014 ~ 5.5 CLE Hours Trial Skills Workshop Led by Joseph Low, Esq. Long Beach, CA This work shop will help lawyers of all skill levels. It will make newer lawyers more comfortable and confident in trial and experienced lawyers even better at connecting with juries. Mr. Low is a graduate of the Trial Lawyers College (TLC) as well as a TLC Senior Instructor & Board Member. He will lead a team of Trial Skills Instructors in teaching new innovative techniques and fresh ideas for winning cases. Mr. Low has taught these skills to lawyers across the country. See his website - listed below - for past workshops / lectures. PARTICULAR FOCUS WILL BE ON: Techniques designed to help the lawyer communicate more effectively with jurors. Learning more about your jurors as each one communicates directly with the lawyer. How to conduct and/or continue Voir Dire during your Opening Statement-and during Direct Examination-and Cross-Examination-and Throughout the Trial. The general format for this workshop will be a discussion of the method being studied, followed by small group breakout sessions led by top trial lawyers from around the country where you learn and/or practice the method. 9:30 Sign in and get comfortable.
