4 Mainstreaming e-learning in education and training - DAE action 68 Headlines Purpose of the workshop To mobilise key stakeholders and Member States representatives to support the mainstreaming of e-learning in national policies as an agent for modernization of education, for all subjects and skills. Status of progress and challenges reported in the workshop Change is necessary unavoidable but difficult and too slow Lots of activities and experimentations going one focusing on pedagogical change and on new ways of learning and doing but we need to scale up, learn from each other, be clear on the visions, goals and involve stakeholders, leadership, but a comprehensive holistic approach is key together with sustainability. 8 "Towards a cloud computing strategy for Europe: Matching supply and demand " (DAE action 53) Headlines Purpose of the workshop To identify the main elements of a European Cloud Strategy and the possible need for public-policy intervention, considering the demand and the supply side concerns. Status of progress and challenges reported in the workshop The take up of cloud computing in Europe has been slower than optimal due to barriers (trust, security, interoperability, data privacy) faced by cloud providers and the cloud users. The impact of cloud technologies goes beyond reducing IT costs and giving more flexibility, but it is a platform to enable EU innovation and new business models (EU as cloud active ).
