3 Job Postings -- Page : 3 train in the Pulmonary Lab. JOB SUMMARY: A Licensed Respiratory Therapy Technician/Therapist is responsible for the following: 1. Providing respiratory care services to in and out patients of all ages (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). 2. Providing an accurate 12 Lead EKG for patient records, according to physician orders and written procedures to in and out patients of all ages (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). NATURE OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Patient Care Supervisor RELATIONSHIPS/INTERACTION: The Respiratory Therapist can effectively and efficiently demonstrate cooperation and professional behavior while working directly with all internal departments, medical staff, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse aides, patients/families, and physicians. The Respiratory Therapist interacts regularly with physician offices, the community, and other external customers. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Program. 2. Current license to practice Respiratory Therapy in the state of WV. 3. Current BCLS certification. 4. Knowledge for use of computer equipment.

Promotes a safe and comfortable environment for patient s family, visitors, and coworkers. Cooperates and assists with orientation of new personnel. Responds promptly and skillfully to all Code 99 emergency situations. Implements patient and family teaching and reinforces teachings as necessary. Maintains gas cylinders as necessary, utilizing appropriate safety measures. Performs daily maintenance and calibration of all arterial blood gas and co-oximetry machines, ventilators, bipap, and EKG machines as needed. Maintains the computer skills and telephone skill required for the position. Performs a 12 Lead Electrocardiogram

6 Job Postings -- Page : 6 accurately and according to written procedures including all age groups. Maintains infection control procedures for all areas. Checks and maintains stock and also reports malfunctions in equipment. Performs all clerical responsibilities related to duties. Effectively processes EKG s to ensure a timely interpretation of EKG s by a qualified physician. WORKING CONDITIONS: HOURS OF WORK- May be required to work beyond normal working hours or shift when necessary. PHYSICAL- 1. Standing, bending, and moving intermittently for long periods of time. Able to lift a minimum of 5 pounds to 500 pounds and assist and/or move patients of unlimited weight. 2. Position may require assisting in lifting/moving patients of unlimited weight, and also bending and stretching over the patients and in the EKG filing room. 3. Position involves considerable standing and

7 Job Postings -- Page : 7 walking; only minimal sitting on feet for approximately 61/2 to 7 hours a shift walking to and from patients rooms, ED, SCU, PACU and EKG file room. ENVIRONMENT- Through patient contact may be exposed to hazardous materials and bloodborne pathogens. EQUIPMENT- Daily use of biomedical equipment such as but not limited to oxygen delivery equipment, handheld nebulizers, arterial blood gas and co-oximeter machines, incentive spirometry, mechanical ventilation equipment, CPAP, BiPap, EKG equipment, computers and normal office equipment. MENTAL/VISUAL- Ability to communicate and interact with others in a respectful, courteous, discreet and kind manner. Able and willing to follow instructions and directions. Observes and reports observations. Physically and mentally able to perform duties. Neat, well groomed, discreet and professional in behavior. Willingness to adapt to reassignments as necessary. Able to work with frequent interruptions.
