Using your own BMW i Wallbox, you can recharge the electric motor s battery within a few hours at home. The power required can be supplied in accordance with energy generated by a solar power installation, adding further sustainability. This means that you are always fully powered up and ready for any journey, using eco-friendly produced electricity.

4 # Home charging THE BMW i WALLBOX PRO. CLEVER. SUSTAINABLE. MULTIFUNCTIONAL. Use the BMW i Wallbox Pro for intelligent recharging of your BMW X with edrive. A proximity sensor activates the display of the Wallbox as soon as motion is detected. The intuitive " touchscreen provides access to comprehensive functions, enabling you to optimise the charging process in accordance with the renewable energy available from your own home solar system. You can also display information on the current charging status along with details of previous charging cycles, with a breakdown of homegenerated and mains power use. To keep track of energy usage, you can create up to three PIN-protected user accounts, each with two user profiles (say, for business and personal use). These profiles, which store your charging history and data, can be selected (for billing purposes, for example) and forwarded by . Its intelligent charging functions make it possible to integrate the Wallbox Pro with smart home systems¹. The integrated load management system independently controls the charging rate depending on household power consumption, delivering the maximum available current when charging your vehicle. 9 # Intelligent drive concept edrive. The BMW edrive concept demonstrates the BMW commitment to sustainability. The new BMW X xdrive e can cover up to miles ( km) on electric power alone without consuming fuel. The plug-in hybrid s key elements are a BMW TwinPower Turbo engine, an electric motor and a highvoltage lithium-ion battery. Depending on the battery s charging status and the amount of power required, the electric motor can drive the vehicle by itself, or support the internal combustion engine. Intelligent energy management controls the interaction between the electric motor and the internal combustion engine, using the drive components to achieve maximum effi ciency. To top up the high-voltage battery, use the ELECTRIC systems for home and public charging. Or Brake Energy Regeneration: the electric motor can also function as a generator when coasting or braking, transforming the vehicle s kinetic energy into electric energy that is fed back into the battery.
