2 Frequently Asked Questions How do I get my Gaming License? To apply for your gaming license you need to fill out the online application at the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation website. To work in the industry you will also need a Responsible Service of Gambling Certificate. In this course, which we offer students will receive detailed instructions as to how to apply for their gaming license. The Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation issued the license which usually takes 2-6 weeks and costs approximately $200. Will I learn enough to be able to work in a Bar? Yes. You will be trained to entry-level skills in Bartending, Waiting, and Espresso Coffee Making. You will have the necessary confidence and skills to secure a job. Tell me about your teaching staff. Our teaching staff is comprised of bartenders who have years of experience in the field. This course cannot be taught from books it needs to be taught by bartenders who have learned their skills from real-world experience. Each member of staff has been carefully selected to enhance our team approach. They are able to pass on to you all the skills of the trade to help you become a skilled bartender. Will the school get me a job, and for how long can I use your Staffing Agency? We cannot guarantee or promise anyone a job. However, after being in business for so many years, we have formed connections with many businesses across Melbourne. You are welcome to use our Staffing Agency as many times as you find necessary. In other words, if you are ever out of work, or just need additional work, you can call or drop by to see what jobs we have available. There is never any charge for this service to our graduates. Can I take the Course if my educational background is limited? Yes. With good common sense and ambition, you should have no difficulty. If you have problems during the course, our instructors will always be there and ready to help you. If you need extra hours, there will be no additional charge. You can stay until you are completely satisfied. I am a woman what chances do I have of finding employment? Is bartending safe? Hospitality is one of the few professions that does not discriminate in any way. All reputable establishments hire women as frequently as men for bartending jobs. Our staff will work with you to place you in an atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable. The businesses we have connections to are all reputable establishments, and the safety of all their employees is of the utmost concern to them. I am a middle-aged person. Do I have an actual chance of finding employment? There is no age barrier in the bartending/hospitality fields. There is room for everyone, from young people of eighteen years old, to people in their sixties. Your ability, personality and attitude count far more than anything else. 2
