6 The environments around us are constantly evolving and changing. The pioneers of this change should, undoubtedly, be the architects who, through their designs, offer societies better living environments. However, creating better environments requires analyzing current architectural problems with a critical mind, closely following and capitalizing on the latest technological developments, showing ecological care, having social responsibility; and being devoted to business ethics. Assistant Professor İlker Fatih Özorhon (PhD Architectural Design ITU) In addition to all these qualities, as the Özyeğin University Architecture Program, we are committed to prepare innovative and creative architects who are life-long learners and researchers vested with superior skills and unparalleled competence to make a difference in today s competitive environment.
7 Bachelor of Industrial Design (B.ID) The profound social, economic, political and cultural transformation that goes by the name of globalization reshaped the world in the late 20th century, replacing old values and trends with new ones. As in all walks of life, globalizations had also a major impact on the field of design. On the other hand, the concept of sustainable development has underscored the importance of preserving natural resources for future generations. The Undergraduate Industrial Design Program at OzU is flexible and tailored for teaching how to learn, inculcates problem solving skills, encourages creative thinking and provides opportunities for collaborations with other programs offered by the Faculty of Architecture and Design. As its key mission and philosophy, the program aspires to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills and help them gain an appreciation for sustainable designs in the pursuit of preparing them as multi-dimensional and successful designers who are able to integrate their knowledge and skills with the state of the art technologies, reflect their intuitions and emotions to their designs; achieve outstanding accomplishments in different tracks of the field of design, and are well-aware that their designs should be applicable in the real world.
