4 1. Introduction 1.1. Purpose of this document This document forms part of a series providing a detailed view of all trading and information services available from the Exchange, following the migration to Millennium Exchange. The document provides an overview of the go-live weekend activities. Customer participation during the weekend is optional, but the Exchange recommends that all customers participate to ensure they are fully prepared for trading on Millennium Exchange on Monday 14 February A roll-back plan describing the recovery actions the Exchange would follow in the event of any issues occurring has also been included. 6 2. Go-live Weekend Overview The go-live weekend provides customers with an opportunity to confirm connectivity of their applications only. Customers are recommended to connect to each production gateway for which they have been configured. Customers should log on with all the CompID/UserIDs they will use in production. Customers are advised that any user configuration changes made during the weekend will remain in effect for trading on Monday 14 February. 3. Pre-weekend Activities The activities detailed in this section are expected to be completed by Friday 11 February Customer Activities Prior to the weekend, customers are required to have completed all relevant activities where necessary: Testing of applications in CDS. Self-certification of any customer in-house applications. Receipt/installation of applications and associated documentation to be provided by ISVs. Production enablement setup, including receipt of Configuration Forms (with RNS channel access where requested). Completion of any internal technical network/application/hardware changes Connectivity to the Early Access Service (EAS) with ALL applications to ALL gateways expected to be used in production. Deletion of any open orders or quotes in TradElect/EAS Exchange Activities The Exchange will have completed the following activities ahead of the go-live weekend: Deletion of any outstanding open orders/quotes on TradElect 1. Deletion of any open orders/quotes on EAS. Deletion of trades from TradElect and entry of delayed trades into Millennium Exchange. Entry of closing prices from TradElect into Millennium Exchange. 1 Orders/quotes on the Order Book for Retail Bonds market on TradElect will not be affected. 6

7 Reference Data Updates The Exchange will confirm that all reference data updates to Millennium Exchange have been completed by issuing a Service Announcement following the end of the trading day on Friday 11 February Go-live Weekend Activities The activities detailed in this section will occur on Saturday 12 February Trading Platform Connectivity Millennium Exchange Connectivity Millennium Exchange will be available for connectivity only between 06:00 and 16:30. Customers will be able to log on to all production gateways including replay and recovery services and receive heartbeat messages. Customers will receive business level reject messages indicating the market is closed if they attempt to enter any messages. Customers should be aware that production reference data files will not be available. In addition, market data will not be disseminated from any of the real-time data services. However, the FTSE closing prices from Friday 11 February 2011 may be disseminated TradElect/Infolect TradElect/Infolect will be available for connectivity only between 08:00 and 16:30. Customers will receive TradElect messages including order cancellations/expirations as well as reference data via Infolect. Customers are strongly advised to back up their production applications at the end of the trading day on Friday 11 February Customer Support Support Desk During the day, customers should contact the Millennium Exchange support desk on: +44 (0) or support@londonstockexchange.com for technical assistance from 06:00 (GMT). Technical Account Managers will also be available. 7

8 Weekend Activity Monitor Customers will be kept informed of progress of the transition throughout the day via the following website: Supporting Documentation Further information on all aspects of the Migration to Millennium Exchange can be found at the link below: Operational Confirmation Confirmation that Millennium Exchange is operational will be communicated to customers at 13:00 via the Weekend Activity Monitor. 8

9 5. Roll-back Approach The Exchange fully expects to transition to Millennium Exchange on Monday 14 February However, should the Exchange encounter any unexpected issues, the following contingency plans will be followed: Issue Irresolvable issue detected prior to go live. Post go-live site failure. Post go-live hardware failure. Post go-live software bug detected within the first week of operation; bug highly likely to prevent fair and orderly operation of the markets for at least 24 hours. Post go-live software bug detected after the first week of operation preventing orderly operation of the markets for at least 24 hours. Recovery Action Trading to continue on TradElect. Secondary site invocation. None as the Millennium Exchange architecture is fully resilient to any single point of failure. Roll back to TradElect and resume markets as soon as the Exchange and customers are ready. If the issue occurs during trading hours the Exchange will be in a position to open the market on TradElect at the start of the next trading day. Fix software bug and continue trading on Millennium Exchange In the unlikely event of a serious technical issue arising on the Millennium Exchange platform, the Exchange s Live Service Portal will be invoked. Clients are strongly advised to register on this portal for updates. The Portal can be accessed at: 9

Go-live Schedule Millennium Exchange will go live with empty order books and publish delayed trades on Monday 14 February Reference data will contain closing prices from the previous trading day on TradElect.
