1 VACANCY Job Title: Hours: Salary: Location: Schools Education Coordinator 37 hours per week 20,849-22,937 (starting salary 20,849) pro rata Redcar Hub Cleveland Fire Brigade is looking for a self-motivated individual to assist in the delivery of of its Integrated Community Safety Policy through the education of children both in groups and on an individual basis across the Brigade area. Your role will be to support the development and implementation of both the Schools Education programme and Firesetter Intervention programme. As well as working with groups of children in an education setting you will also have to work on a one to one basis with identified young people to promote fire safety. It is therefore essential that candidates are able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in both of these settings. Candidates must have demonstrable experience of working with a variety of curriculum levels up to kay stage 3, be confident in delivering presentations and have the ability to tactfully deal with sensitive situations. In addition candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check. 2 Personal Role Profile Role Title: Schools Education Coordinator Reporting To: Hub Manager Location: Redcar Hub Role/Grade: Band E Purpose of Role: To assist in the delivery of the Brigades Integrated Community Safety Policy through education of children both in groups and on an individual basis within the Brigade area. To assist in other areas of community safety as required. Key Responsibilities 1. To support the development and implementation of the Brigade s Schools Education Programme. 2. To support the development and implementation of the Brigades Firesetter Intervention programme. 3. To have an overview of Fire Safety Education and advice provided for young people within the Cleveland area. 4. To assist the development of Brigade personnel to undertake Community Safety activities. 5. To assist with the evaluation of existing initiatives. 6. To assist with the general activities of the Community Safety team in visiting schools and other events which promote fire safety education. 7. Responsible for maintaining records of schools education activities and firesetter intervention cases in line with Policies and Procedures. 8. Your post requires that you wear uniform in accordance with the Dress & Appearance Policy and Procedure 9. Take part in Personal Development Reviews and complete Personal Development Records in accordance with Brigade procedure 10. Maintain relevant skills and knowledge aligned to key responsibilities and National Occupational Standards to determine continued maintenance of competence in role 11. Support and promote equality and diversity, respect and dignity for all staff and members of our local communities in line with Brigade policy 12.
