It helps students understand the performance management cycle and apply concepts to improve both individual & organizational performance. Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs) Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Describe how performance management can contribute to organizational effectiveness; 2. Explain how performance management system is developed and implemented effectively; 3. Apply performance management techniques and tools to plan and facilitate performance; 4. Apply performance management methods and skills to evaluate and improve performance; and 5. Assess the effectiveness of performance management system and make enhancement. 1

Teaching and Learning Activities (TLAs): (designed to facilitate students achievement of the CILOs) a. Lectures focus on elaboration and illustration of knowledge and techniques of Performance Management. b. Tutorials provide students with the opportunity to apply the concepts and knowledge covered in the syllabus. Activities include student presentations and discussion on cases relating to course topics. c. Group project allows students apply the knowledge covered in the syllabus in real case study. 3

Examination 50 A two-hour written examination (with essay type and/or multiple choice questions) to assess the ability to apply theories/concepts and general knowledge in performance management.
