1 Website Report May 2006 Traffic We had our highest traffic month ever, with 36,561 visitors and 81,408 pageviews. May saw the highest average visitors per day ever with an average of 1,179 visitors per day. Monthly Visitor Comparison by Year Monthly Visitors January February March April May June July August September October November December Google and Yahoo Adword Campaign Effects The Google and Yahoo adwords campaigns increased our total visitors in May by 3,256, April by 4,523 and March by 3,242. The depth and Length of Visit length of the 8000 visits has also 7000 increased. 2 Referrals We had 101 referrals from GetActive, 35 referrals from Global Giving, and 25 referrals from Ethos, and 20 referrals from Water Advocates. Interesting referral of the month My Space (2,300 referrals): Not sure where these referrals are from. Most are from just the general pages. They are a partner for some of the adword referrals as well. A few people have our logo on their main page under Interests with a link to water.org. See: or I believe My Space must have us listed as a choice for Interests. 7 Google Cost Experiment for May 2006 From May 1 thru May 8 the higher cost per click limits were used for Google. These are the limits that allow all of our keywords to be searched. (Google sets a mimimum cost per click cost for more general keywords). On May 9, the cost per click limits were set to $0.25, some of our more general keywords went inactive (See list at bottom of page). This resulted in an average cost per click of $0.13 and an average cost per day of $8.24. Even though the general keywords are inactive, they are still used for matching with Total Content Match. This is a service google provides which looks at all of the keywords in each campaign to match searches or article matches. Here is a comparison of the results with the High limits and the $0.25 limit.
