ACCOUNTABILITY The Associate Minister of Youth and Children reports to the Senior Minister and is ultimately responsible to the Eldership. STAFF RELATIONSHIPS: 1. Daily Schedule is published church office hours from 830am to 430pm. Regular church office hours should be kept. Work towards a 40 hour work week which includes time in local schools, ministry time, and office hours. Work time/scheduling is flexible. Two days off per week normally, but church events do occur on days off. 2. Attend staff meetings on a weekly basis reporting on ministry activities and being part of the team. 3. Attend monthly elders meeting reporting on ministry activities and being part of leadership. 4. Attend monthly deacons meeting reporting on ministry activities and being part of leadership. 5. Accountable directly to the Senior Minister and then to the Eldership. 6. Direct Supervisor of the Paid Nursery Worker (if so staffed). 7. Participate in the Yearly Ministry Review. OBJECTIVE: To be responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing the Youth (Middle School and High School) and Children s (Birth-5 th Grade) Ministries of the church, while serving as a spiritual leader and role model to the church at large. POSITION: Full Time Salaried Staff with Parsonage and Health Insurance QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Statement of 1 call into the ministry, 2 personal testimony of salvation, and 3 current walk with the Lord. 2. Sets an example and serves as a role model in his personal life (family, marriage, finances, etc). 3. Exercising spiritual gifts relevant to this ministry position. 4. Possess excellent communication skills and have a burning desire to share the life of Jesus Christ and the Christian faith with others. 5. Educated in a Bible College/Christian College from the Restoration Movement. Bachelors Required. 6. Ordained into the Christian Ministry by a Restoration Movement Church. 7. Willingness to learn and grow spiritually, personally, and professionally. 8. Enthusiastic, with the ability to relate well with students, children, and families. 9. Organized and self-starting with the ability to work independently. 10. Has a passion for and demonstrates patience in dealing with students, children, and families.

2 BASIC RESPONSIBILITY: Administrate Youth Ministry. Administrate Children s Ministry. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Pray for the staff, adults, students, and children at New Beginnings Christian Church. 2. Establish vision, ministry philosophy, objectives, and goals for Students. 3. Establish vision, ministry philosophy, objectives, and goals for Children. 4. Coordinate all announcements and information about Students and Children. 5. Coordinate and oversee and evaluate all Student and Children s Programs, events, classes, etc. 6. Select and secure all materials and necessary supplies for your ministry. 7. Provide regular encouragement and thanks to youth and children s volunteers. 8. Develop and work within the annual budget. 9. Maintain and review education building facilities, technology, and functions. 10. Participation and attendance in professional growth opportunities (1-2 per year). 11. Provide regular written and oral reports at elders meetings once a month. 12. Provide a detailed written report and summary oral report for the yearly congregational meeting. 13. Meet with the Senior Minister on a regular basis for updates and clear communication. 14. If serving at a service, attend one worship service a week as an extension of being part of the Body. Recruit, train and support willing and able servants in Student and Children s Ministries. Assess and recommend curriculum for youth and children s ministries. Coordinate all childcare for special church worship events.

Constantly present, teach, and model a Christ-centered world view which works out in relationships. 4. Move Middle School and High School students to positions of service within the body at large. 5. Strong presence in local middle and high schools through parachurch organizations or other efforts. 6. Break the cycle of apostasy for High School and College students. 7. Work well professionally and personally with all NBCC staff members. 8. Working relationship with youth & children s ministers in all types of area churches. NOTE: All staff are to be available to help where needed for the cause of Christ and the advancement of His Church. A servant attitude ( it s all part of the work of the church ) is part of all staff performance plans. Staff should always be asking the question, How can we become more dynamic, relevant, reach out, and bring life change to our community?
